That's when I began to pray: Lord, show me how to Say no to this I don't know how to Say no to this
but also consider:
I wish I could say that was the last time I said that last time. It became a pastime A month into this endeavor I received a letter From a Mr. James Reynolds, even better, it said: Dear Sir, I hope this letter finds you in good health And in a prosperous enough position to put wealth In the pockets of people like me: down on their luck You see, that was my canvas that you decided to FUUUUU

shhimagiraffe replied to your post: who’s more obnoxious: language majors or stem...
lmao trueee we stem majors can be shits
stem, and like... fucking... engineers? i hate. oh my god. every time i have to interact with another engineer i’m just like. “why. how does anything ever get done with engineers are all like THIS”
“Once you get this, you have to say five things you like about yourself, publicly, then send this to 10 of your favorite followers (non-negotiable). Positivity is cool! “
So I got this message from 2 different people. (Does that mean I have to do the thing twice?? I don’t know.)
Um.... Here goes:
1) I’m a good writer. I like rereading stuff I write and world building.
2) I’m a pretty good teacher and I have a good ability to “break it down to stupid” because that’s how I learn --> breaking the material down into it’s simplest components and building up from there. Make it so you can teach it to a 5 year old. It’s super cool to teach and help people and watch their faces when they finally get it.
3) I like my hair?? Idk, it’s pretty and shiny. Best feature, tbh.
4) I’m a pretty good cook if I do say so myself. Hell yeah baking potato bourakes and scones and stuff.
5) I like my singing voice. Specifically, I like that I can hit lots of high notes and make them sound good. I may not be able to sing popular music, but gosh darn it I am good at classical music which tends to have LOTS OF HIGH NOTES FOR ME. (Yes I am absolutely one of those sopranos that checks through new music for all the high notes and how high they are, and yes I might get a little disapointed when there’s nothing above an F on the staff.)
ten books that have stayed with me - tagged by sherlockedtrekkie
rules: in a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. tag your friends, including me, so I’ll see your list
1) Alana: Song of the Lioness (Tamora Pierce) Literally anything by Tamora Pierce is great in my book. This whole world really captured my imagination and I absolutely fell in love with it.
2) Dragon Singer (Anne McCaffrey) Music plus dragons? Yes please. Also, cool world building.
3) Cry of the Icemark (Stuart Hill) I read this because it was fairly similar to the Alana series. Honestly, the story and world building were worth it in their own rights.
4) The Great Tree of Avalon (T A Barron) This whole series was amazing. I read some of them in middle school and was enchanted with this view of Merlin- and then I later went back to read other Merlin books by the same author. They’re all wonderful.
5) Battle of Kings (M K Hume) Another Merlin series- but this one’s a little more adult. I really enjoyed that this took a more historical look, without any kind of “magic” involved.
6) The Harry Potter Series (J K Rowling) Yeah, this one seems obvious. But really, Harry Potter changed my life, and got me into literally every book on this list.
7) Song of the Sparrow (Lisa Ann Sandell) More Arthurian legends, told in free verse poetry (yes, you should be seeing a pattern here). This one captured my attention because it was told by a female- Elaine of Shalott.
8) A Great and Terrible Beauty (Libbra Bray) Female power cast with magic, set in Victorian London. I really fell in love with the concept, and the method of storytelling.
9) Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Rick Riordian) Greek mythology and sarcasm- my two favorites. I picked up the first book at a sleepover birthday party- my friend had just recieved it as a gift. I don’t think I talked to anyone else the rest of the party. I’ve waited on baited breath for each new Riordian book to come out.
10) Ophelia (Lisa Klein) I’ve been a fan of Shakespeare for a while, and Shakespeare “fanfictions” are a dime a dozen. There’s tons of literature out there that follows any number of minor characters. This particular book won my heart by virtue of taking a sympathetic, weak character- Ophelia- and making her into a strong character who was really in charge of her own fate.
This was crazy difficult- I love so many books and it was hard to narrow it down. A lot of my favorites haven’t made it onto this list, just because there wasn’t room. Plus, I don’t currently have access to my bookshelves, which would have made this significantly easier.
I tag willlow-rosenberg ,shhimagiraffe, timeturnersong, battamilk, voidmountain, rebusraven, theguyintheroom, doot-spoop, soupsleuth and whoever else wants to under take this massive task. It’s lots of fun (actually I agonized over this forever).
