Fabulous modern furisode outfit, pairing this bright red iromujifurisode with rinzu depicting botan (raised ground weave depicting peonies), paired with rising dragon antique obi. The accessories truly finish this killer look, from the feather scarf, to the gloves, and matching bright red shigoki.

Shigoki were once belts used by women to hold up their kimono hem when going out and about outside. It is still part of traditional girls Shichigosan outfits, as well as some bridal attires. Its use in modern kimono fashion is totally decorative ^^

Antique black furisode (seen on), with gosho doki (Heian court items among all seasons flowers) pattern.

Here, you can see a gosho guruma (ox cart used by Heian nobles, see pic below) among ume/plum blossoms, botan/peony, tachibana/citrus, tsubaki/camellia, kiku/mum, shobu/iris, etc.

The red&white soft sash is called a shigoki, and was then used to hold hikizuri (long skirt kimono) hem up while walking. It is now only decorative if worn with “modern” kimono.

Beautiful furisode outfit seen on, looking a bit like a bride shiromuku. Plain furisode with rinzu (raised figures) patterns are definitly into fashion atm.

The big chrysanthemum hairpin, crane used on obi kazari (belt decoration) and half collar, and the red shigoki (under belt with fringes) makes this outfit very traditional yet modern at the same time ^^
