I can’t believe it’s been a week since @comicconla! A lot of these images can be found back in my feed, but I know that I have gained some lovely new followers since my #nationalcosplaychampionship experience and I wanted to showcase some of the work that I put in to get the second place medal in the Journeyman Individual category. I cannot express how honored I am to have placed among such strong competition. Thank you so much for @misschrissylyn and @jmillsmakeupandhair for helping us stay organized and running smoothly back stage! It was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to come back next year! Pic 1 shows the first time I displayed the Kaylee dress, at my panel at @whedoncon. Pic 2 is the start of my journey to customize me bodice fabric. Pic 3 was the painstaking pleating process for the front panel. Pic 4 features the constructed bodice. Pic 5 is the beginning of the skirt adventures. Meters and meters and meters of hemmed organza strips ready for a dye bath or two. Vid (6) is of the dye process as I hand dyed the organza for the two different pinks on the skirt. Pic 7 is a detail pic featuring the shoes I chose, the dyed organza and my wig (a buttercup from @ardawigs in light brown). Pic 8 is a sleeve close up featuring a rolled hem, hand dyed and knitted chainette trim and hand made tassels. Pic 9 is a closeup of the bodice, hand made and dyed gloves and even my last minute addition of a pink and sparkly painted purse. And lastly, and this one is a detail I forgot to even mention in prejudging with @designerdaddy_, @pixelartsprops, @jacquelinegoehner and @amberbriteprops. This cute little flamingo is a nod to the amazing costume designer @trpcic who originally brought #shindigkaylee to life.
