Synopsis: Sunhee’s picked who will be the godfather of her son. 

All four SHINee members were waiting anxiously as Sunhee walked through the doors of the studio. They were beaming at her with wide eyes, excited for the news she had yet to spread. Minho was bouncing in his seat, Onew almost in tears, Kibum tapping his foot and Taemin shifting. 

“Well?!” Minho was the first to blurt out his words, “What is it?!” 

“Suns,” Taemin whined, “Are you having a boy or a girl?” 

She giggled at their reactions, smiling, “Okay, are you ready?” 

They all nodded eagerly, waiting to hear. 

“We found out this morning and..,” Sunhee giggled, “A boy!” 

Three of them cheered and yelled, except for KIbum who pouted and whined. He sunk in his seat, arms crossed. He’d been the only one hoping for a little girl, just like Sunhee, who he could baby. 

“Do you have names yet?” Taemin asked. 

“Jiyong and I are talking about that right now,” She explained, “He’s got to tell his group too, you know,” 

Minho was grinning, “The triplets will have a cousin now!” 

“Thank god you didn’t produce offspring in multiples like him,” Onew let out a sigh of relief, “Babysitting is fun, just not when you have a whole pack,” 

Kibum pursed his lips, Sunhee smiled at him. He gave her back a kind smile, he was happy but still, just the smallest bit bummed out that she wouldn’t be having a girl. Sunhee grabbed his hand. 

“Come with me,” She whispered. 

He furrowed his brows together before following him, the pair walking out into the hallway. Sunhee smiled up at him, clasping her hands together and letting out a nervous sound. 

“What is it, giggles?” Kibum asked. 

“Well, I have to ask you something,” Sunhee explained, “And you can say no if you’d like,” 

“Are you naming little Jiyong junior after me?” He joked, “If so, then I’m honoured,” 

Giggling, Sunhee shook her head, “Not exactly but I spoke about this with Jiyong and he’s more than happy, I was wondering if you wanted to be his godfather,” 

Eyes wide, Kibum stared down at the maknae in surprise. All the SHINee members had accepted that none of them would be godfather as soon as Sunhee found out she was pregnant, after all, they all believed the title would go to Taeyang. 

Tears watered in his eyes, he felt so honoured and loved in this moment. Sunhee was like his child, he’d basically raised her and now he would be the godfather to her son. Kibum pulled her into a hug and nodded. 

“Of course, I would love that,” He sniffled, “We all thought it would be Taeyang..,” 

“I always had you in mind as godfather,” Sunhee pulled away and giggled, “No One else,”

(hiya, i’m posting again! i know i disappeared for a while, i was dealing with a  lot of mental health issues as well as a messy breakup and the loss of a three year friendship due to unwanted advances. but, i’m over those toxic assholes and i’m ready to write again!)

Jinhwa let out another tired sigh, shutting off the music blasting through the practice room as she slid down the mirror, pulling her knees to her chest guiltily. She glanced up at Taemin as he wiped at his forehead with his arm, his gaze catching hers briefly before she glanced away, finding the wooden floor to be much more interesting than the gaze of her best friend. Taemin moved to sit down next to her, nudging her shoulder with his. 

“Don’t stress, Hwa. You’ll get it, you always do.”

Usually, his words would comfort her, but they only caused tears to well up in her eyes as she trained her gaze onto the pink of her sneakers. She broke the silence with a sniffle, picking at her nails. 

“I just feel so useless at the moment. I don’t know what it is, I just can’t seem to do anything,” her voice broke pitifully at the end, and she wiped the tears that pooled in her eyes onto her sleeve, “Whether it’s the new choreography, or when I’m recording, or when I’m producing, nothing seems right. Nothing I do ever seems good enough.”

Taemin held back the sigh trapped in his throat, opting for wrapping an arm around Jinhwa’s shoulders, bringing her into an embrace that she welcomed openly. He knew she was stressed out of her mind about the SuperM project, and he was determined to fix that. Her arms immediately settled around his waist, face pressing into his shoulder. She sniffled pitifully, relaxing into his body, simply allowing him to hold her. They sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments, the room filled with their breathing and the occasional sniffle from Jinhwa, before Taemin broke the silence.

“Jinhwa,” he stared quietly, using her full name to garner her full attention, “you’re one of the strongest, most passionate people I know. You put 100% into everything you do, whether it’s silly little interviews or nightly V-LIVES. I’ve known you now for nearly 13 years now, and in all of that time, you’ve proven to me that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. You’re the one who pushed for our management to give you a solo album, you’re the one who pushed for us to do harder and more complex choreography because you believe in us, you’re the one who spends day and night in the studio producing for us when we’re all too tired.”

He paused for a moment to glance down at the now stunned Jinhwa, her eyes glistening with love and adoration. 

“What I’m trying to say, Hwa, is that you can do this. Right now, it might feel like everything is going wrong, that you can’t do this. But I know you, and I know that you’ll get through this and you’ll absolutely ace this comeback.”

He finished speaking with a grin, and Jinhwa couldn’t help returning it as she launched herself back into his arms, tugging him into a tight embrace. He laughed in surprise at the action, returning the embrace all the same. 

“Thank you, Taem. I needed to hear that”

The pair were left in silence again, the moment breaking when Jinhwa pulled herself out of Taemin’s embrace and jumped to her feet. She wiped the slowly drying tears from her face, holding a hand out to Taemin. 

“Let’s ace this comeback then.”

They show their love for each other through acts of love; Jinhwa is always the first to praise Jinki for something, and he is always the first to cheer for her when she’s doing something by herself. He will always ask for her input whenever they’re doing interviews, knowing that she has a habit of staying quiet and agreeing with what the boys say. Jinki and Jinhwa have developed a very strong trust with each other, and they have always, and will always, have each other’s backs.

Jonghyun

He’s always been the most protective of her, to the point where there were rumours about them being more than friends, but when they first met, he thought she didn’t like him because of how quiet she was. Now, however, she doesn’t shut up around him. She promotes his music better than SM, constantly hyping him up whenever she has the chance. They love to hold each other’s hands, and there are multiple photos out there of the pair holding hands at awards shows, airports and when promoting. 

Kibum

Jinhwa used to think Kibum was the most annoying person in the world because of how different they were. They also used to argue a lot in their debut days, not as much as him and Minho, but enough for them to not like each other. But, as they grew older and got to know each other, they realised that they were actually very similar, and they’re now completely inseparable. Kibum constantly makes fun of her, but she always gets him back by making fun of his eye rolling. 

Minho

He’s Jinhwa’s source of energy and joy. He completes her. He was the first member she considered to be a true friends, and he always calls her ‘little one’, because when they met she was pretty much half the size of him. He’s always right there when she needs something; something to cover her legs when she’s wearing a skirt? He’ll take his jacket off as fast as he can. She’s cold? She’ll be wrapped in his arms before she can say anything. They’re each other’s rock, and they couldn’t live without the other.

Taemin

Taemin and Jinhwa singing together has been compared to heaven. They absolutely worship the ground the other walks on, extremely proud of everything the other has achieved. Jinhwa found herself rambling about him at one of her concerts once, praising him to the ends of the Earth. They can make each other laugh with just a look, and they’ll be gone for ages. They radiate sibling energy, and are honestly the most chaotic duo.
