Ik ive said this before but im saying it again...

Having the Shingles Virus at 33 is fucking BULLSHIT.

The fact that ive been been so stressed that this dormant Virus inside of me manifested AT 33 YEARS OLD - LITERALLY ON MY BIRTHDAY- says SO much.

This is suppose to effect people who are 50 and older - NOT IN THEIR 30S!!! I can't even get the vaccine yet because I'm not the correct demographic, but here I am with it anyways 🙃🙃

If you never heard of the Shingles Virus, let me enlighten you....

Its a virus that lays dormant in your body after you had the Chicken Pox as a kid and can manifest due to chronic illness, older age, or extreme stress.

It appears in the form of a rash on your body - mine is on the left side of my neck and near my ear - and if you scratch at it, it can ooze puss and is disgusting.

Its also SUPER painful because it effects your nerves. Imagine having a shooting/burning/stinging pain that makes your whole body tense because of how bad it hurts. That's the pain.

There is also no "quick fix" cause its VIRAL, it has to run its course. You can take tylenol/ibuprofen for the pain, use a hydrocortisone cream for the itch, and cold compresses to help with the lymph node swelling/itching. This can last from 1 to 3 weeks.

AND! if you have this, you can be around people who may be pregnant, immunocompromised, new borns, people who had organ transplants, or kids who haven't had their chicken pox vaccines.

Needless to say, im a very unhappy camper. I have to keep giving myself permission to rest everyday because if im resting, im not being productive. I also have to keep reminding myself to NOT worry about work. Being out cause I'm sick with this is Virus is NOT my fault and im not expected to fix everything/keep working from home. If anything, I could make a great case about how my job caused this virus to manifest 🙃

You can get the shingles vaccine, even if you have been vaccinated against chicken pox, or received the other shingles vaccine, or have already had shingles. It is recommended still. 💜 sincerely, a message from a 25 year old who was vaccinated against chicken pox and yet has shingles anyways 💜

Welp, I have shingles again, for the 6th time this year alone. I wish I was kidding. I'd get the vaccine, but at this point finding a period of time where I DON'T already have it again is getting tricky.
