Why do you ship zenitsu and sanemi? /gen

Why do I like Sanezen/Sanzen/Sanitsu, that's a good question. Take a chair and listen to my story, prepare to immerse yourself in my mind.

At first it wasn't my goal, but it got out of hand...

For a little context Zenitsu is my favorite character and Sanemi has to be my third favorite.

I really like alternate universes, and my favorite trope is time travel fix it.

So I decided to do a time travel AU where in the end they don't beat Muzan and so it ends up in a war with all of humanity for years. I wanted everyone to die little by little and at the end only Zenitsu remained, but it wasn't fun enough and I wanted someone a little original to survive with him. And finally my choice fell on Sanemi, he's a character that I like and his story would be interesting if he went back in time (Genya in particular) so my choice was made.

So the concept was simple everyone dies in a huge war that lasts for years, among the people we know, only Sanemi and Zenitsu remain, and somehow they goes back in time.

At first they were just friends/coworkers at the end of the world, who worked together to save the world, and then the situation got out of hand. I thought that logically they were a bit codependent, they had lost all their loved ones and the only ones they knew from their time were themselves. So they had to have each other's back and rely on each other. And also I liked the dynamic of Sanemi who tries to charge head on, and Zenitsu who was more tactical or just more calm, and then the two who argued quite a bit with one shouting and one screeching. It was funny to me.

So I started doing more and more AUs where they were together (as partner/friends) because their dynamic was funny to me. An AU where Zenitsu is a Hashira, a modern AU, one where Kaigaku and Zenitsu are like Nezuko and Tanjiro. And one day they were interacting in my AU and it was flirt, believe me I did a double take when I realized, I was like "wtf did they just flirt? ... Oh that could be fun!" And the situation got out of my hands.

I started doing a thousand AUs where they were dating or lover or whatever and it was so much fun!

I reworked the first one with time travel but with romance. I made a modern world reincarnation AU in which everyone has memories except them, and they go out together and everyone is confused by it because wtf. One where Zenitsu is a demon that Sanemi spares since he's nice and doesn't kill and they end up falling in love. Another one or Zenitsu is a Hashira but with romance. One where Zenitsu is a doctor from the butterfly mansion (I'm writing a fanfiction about that one). Also a funny AU, you know Zenitsu likes nice girls because he's been treated badly by lots of other girls. So an AU were because of the fact that he was treated badly by lots of girls and his family and Kaigaku, Zenitsu thinks that love is like that! So meeting Mr. I screamed I get angry I'm mean all the time for nothing, for Zenitsu it's like meeting the perfect man, I think it's hilarious.

I looked, as if bewildered, at their stories, for ways to develop something of love, interests, angst. For example, Zenitsu sees Sanemi treating Genya and it reminds him of Kaigaku and him. Or at the same time with his hearing Zenitsu would hear how much Sanemi loves Genya and that he hates what he does. Thought of Sanemi enjoying hearing Zenitsu play the Shamisen. Zenitsu likes strong people who can protect him and even though Sanemi is scary he might see a softer side. Sanemi has a moment seeing the same potential that Jigoro saw. And a few other things.

And in the funnier category, the meeting with the father/grandfather with Zenitsu who brings Sanemi back to Jigoro, hilarious. Sanemi, older brother of six who knows how to cook, and Zenitsu who can barely make rice, where Sanemi teaches him how to cook. The two playing Hanafuda, Zenitsu blasting Sanemi and being proud, until Sanemi gets angry and throws all the cards away with a screaming Zenitsu. Sanemi chasing Zenitsu with a Japanese rhinoceros beetle while the latter screams and cries. Also underneath all his shouting Zenitsu remains a good person, a kind person, and no matter who you ship Sanemi with, he has a soft spot for soft people or people with a soft spot. Them being domestic, Zenitsu happily playing the role of house husband, because how come I can just stay home and do chores,(that Sanemi taught him) without having to fight demons!

They are both among the survivors at the end of the manga, which could make for a really good first meeting and a really good start to the story. Like to get to know each other, because maybe Sanemi is hurt and needs help and Zenitsu loses the short straw and has to help him. And then they fall in love and it's technically an doomed love because Sanemi has the mark, and so they only have four years together!

But as time went on they became my favorite couple, and I have so many other things I haven't said about them that I love.

Reasons I Enjoy EngBela:

They both enjoy rock music, singing, and the occult.

They both can see ghosts.

They're both deep thinkers, eccentric, and spacey.

Belarus likes Alice in Wonderland and the Haunted Mansion, which I can easily see England liking as well.

I also think they would appreciate each other's sense of style.

In real life, England has the only library outside of Belarus to focus solely on Belarusian things.

Why the ‘Canoe Scenes’ of The Sun and the Star are actually brilliant.

Before TSATS, there was nothing. Rick kinda went: new ship! Us: New OTP! (Don’t lie, all of us did.)

Even though Solangelo was prominent in the Trials of Apollo, we didn’t really know the story behind it.

Does anyone remember those headcanon things on pinterest that were like: “Solangelo first kiss!” “Solangelo First Date!” (Side note: the font and grammar of those were the bane of my existence)

In the canoe scenes (the ones with that nymph named Gorgyra where Solangelo told stories in exchange for the white canoe), what Rick did was give us the milestones of their relationship, and give us how Solangelo started, which gives them a backstory like every other major (canon) ship has instead of “oh here’s this random ship that’s canon now!”

TL:DR, the canoe scenes explain how Solangelo became canon.

Your ships are interesting. I am talking about Connie x Marco, Cat Noir (Adrian) x Katnappe, and Skulker x Mandie. What inspired you to create all 3 ships and how they got together?

Connie and Marco were both once nerdy safe kids who went through a character change that made them warriors in a way. They both have a similar vibe and I could see them getting along and having chemistry. I see them meeting as young adults at a convention (probably about medieval weaponry) and hitting it off.

The obvious answer for Cat Noir and Katnappé is because they're similar costumes. I just see them and I was like "ship it". Their relationship starts out as something like a Batman and Catwoman one (except Catman and Catwoman?), where Adrian tries to stop her thief acts. Then they start developing an attraction and the next thing they know there's a kid and they're like "truce?" And they raise it together.

The reason why I chose Mandie and Skulker was honestly because I wanted a girl with fire hair for Skulker so their kid could have fire hair. That is really my answer for that one. I don't see them being in a relationship like the other two ships here, more like they cross paths from time to time and then one day they have a daughter and do some weird villain co-parenting.

My main thing is that they both hide behind masks-- they just do it in different ways. Leo's upbeat and silly; Reyna's serious. I think that when they realize this, Leo will help Reyna lighten up a little, and Reyna will allow Leo a little stability and life-doesn't-depend-on-it responsibility.

We haven't seen much of Reyna relaxed and comfortable around friends, but I'd be willing to bet money that she has a subtle sense of humor. Leo'd be all over that.

Let's be honest, guys. Leo likes powerful, awesome girls. This is Reyna with a capital everything. And Reyna's clearly got a thing for powerful guys (hint: Percy and Jason), and while Leo's not a son of the Big Three, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that controlling pyrokinetics requires a lot of power.

Leo's a son of Hephaestus. Reyna has automaton pet greyhounds. Two and two. (I feel like I read somewhere that in the original mythology, the silver and gold greyhounds were a gift from Hephaestus or something.) He could fix her dogs, and they would love him 5ever.

 "Reyna" = reina = queen. "Leo" = lion, connoting king. Fun frickin' fact, guys.

They're both Spanish. We don't have any Reyna POV, so we don't know how strongly she relates to her Puerto Rican background, but it's probably pretty strong, since Circe's spa was right there in Latin America. It'd be nice for Leo to have someone else bilingual around, and tbh I can totally see them slipping in and out of Spanish together.

Family issues/awful backstories are kind of a common thread in our heroes, but let's look at them anyway. Obviously everyone on Tumblr knows Leo's horrifically sad background, so I'm not going to go into it. But then there's Reyna. Listen. I'm assuming she grew up with Hylla (no dad or Bellona) in Circe's spa. Percy sets pirates loose, and they wreck the place. Okay, pirates, guys. It's a kids' series, but you know what pirates do with female captives? Yeah. She was about twelve. You know she wouldn't have told anyone. Then Hylla goes off and becomes queen of the Amazons, so Reyna goes off alone to Camp Jupiter. Cue excellent opportunities for angst/hurt-comfort fanfics.

They're both loyal-- Leo to his friends, Reyna to her home. And I really do think they'd get along. They're just so subtly alike. And the Greco-Roman dynamic would be interesting to see.

And of course there are other things, little headcanons and such, so it's not like this is exhaustive. But I think this hits a lot of the big points.
