Energetic and youthful, Queen Mary 2 is a veritable party girl. She’s cheerful and outgoing, and even though the older ships don’t often understand her she loves hanging out with them anyway. Despite her laid-back, fun-loving nature, though, she does take her role as the last operational ocean liner very seriously, as she’s immensely proud of having such a distinction - even if it’s a lot to live up to.

In addition to speaking fluent French and English as well as being mostly fluent in German, Queen Mary 2 speaks small amounts of various other languages from around the world, including Japanese, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Arabic, and many others!
She‘ll never be caught dead without her signature Versace sunglasses.
She likes to send the original Queen Mary - who also has a phone - memes and funny videos. Queen Mary understands none of it, but appreciates the interaction.
Despite being Queen Mary’s successor, she gets along very well with Normandie; being built in the same shipyard - and looking a bit similar - certainly helps, as does their mutual love for lavish decorations and elaborate light displays.
Thanks for another awesome template, @arcandoria! More to come as I might have gone a little overboard, but what can I say except Val has affiliations!

MITCH ANDERSON: While the vet might not have caught V's eye on their first meeting, his steadfast friendship and caring demeanor—not to mention questionable sense of humor and beautiful blue eyes—helped these friends transition to lovers despite hiccups along the way. V needs someone she can depend on while trying to find a cure, and Mitch needs a partner he can adore and protect. Given her orphan upbringing, Val has a hard time being receptive to love, but Mitch's patience and her own determination have allowed her the opportunity to grow.
VIRGINIA VERMILION: V's mother died when she was young, and she remembers little about her other than her sharp smile and laugh, and green eyes and red hair. Virginia used to say that V didn't have a father because she popped into existence one evening.
JACKIE WELLES: When V returned from Atlanta with no plans and nowhere to go, a chance encounter with the former Valentino gave her hope. Jackie offered her a place to stay and they became fast friends. His death affected her more than Virginia's.
GUADALUPE WELLES: Used to the strays that Jackie would bring home, Lupe was pleasantly surprised at V's manners and helpfulness around the house. She became the mother that V never had. After Jackie's death, she avoided Lupe due to the overwhelming guilt at her role, but finally reconciled before she left Night City.
PANAM PALMER: The dark-eyed firecracker immediately caught V's eye—and heart, even if Panam turned it down—and their adventures made them fast friends. When V called her from the rooftop, Panam dropped everything and sped to Night City, ready to do anything.
JUDY ALVAREZ: How could anyone not be a little bit in love with Judy with her hair and smarts and wit? After Panam's rejection, V quickly transferred her affections to Judy but it was a doomed affair with Judy still reeling from Evelyn's suicide and V dealing with a chip in her brain.
JOHNNY SILVERHAND: V and the rockerboy didn't get along at first, but after they ironed out the kinks Johnny became a trusted confidant and friend. Leaving him behind in Mikoshi was one of the hardest decisions of her life.
The Dutch Navy began to modernize itself in the late 1860s, and the Buffel ( Buffalo) was one of a pair of ships that adopted the latest design features: armored sides from the Gloire and Warrior, twin guns in a turret as in the Monitor, and a ram bow based on the Italian experience at the Battle of Lissa.
The Buffel was built by Napier's in Glasgow 1868, and her sister Guinea was completed in Amsterdam two years later. The Buffel was designed as a coast-defense ship and only left Dutch waters for a trip to Antwerp in 1871 , but she helped the Dutch Navy train and exercise in the new naval warfare techniques. Her armament was first of all the ram on her bow, mainly against wooden ships, and originally two 300-pound (140 kg), 23 cm (9 in) Armstrong guns, with a total weight of 25 metric tons, in one turret.
The turret
These were later replaced by a single 28 cm (11 in) gun, and the armament was enhanced by a couple of smaller guns; two 7.5 cm (3 in), four 3.7 cm (1.5 in), and two Hotchkiss revolving cannons. Her crew consisted of 150 men, officers, petty-officers, and sailors. She was reduced to a barracks ship in 1896 and restored to her original state between 1974 and 1979. Where she became a museum ship.
The prominent black hull is adorned with gilded decorations at the bow and stern. At a coastal steamship she carries very little rigging. The two light masts were used mainly for signaling. On the main deck, the wheel is placed near the stern in traditional fashion, although it is some way from the bridge.
The aft- deck is comparatively clear, except for the hatches and companionsways down its center and the area around the funnel, which is surrounded by ventilators to take air to the pair of 1,000- horsepower engines. Forward of that is the light bridge, the the circular turret, with its twin guns normally kept inboard and the ports closed. The deck is also quite clear foreward, with the anchors and capstans in the bow.
The Longroom
Below decks, the captain’s cabin is at the stern, with his sleeping quarters and bathroom to starboard and the officer’s galley to port. Forward of that is the wardroom (called long room), with small officer’s cabins on both sides of the ship ahead of that.
The Mess and the Captains desk
The petty officers lived near the waist of the Buffel on either side of the trunking that led the fumes from the engine up to the funnel.
The mechanism and armor of the rotating turret also took up a good deal of space below decks, with the crew’s mess tables and hammocks on either side and foreward of it. Below that deck, just aft of the waist, were the engines, with coal stowed near them and provisions stored both forward and aft.
Mauretania is well-known for her cheerful, energetic personality. She’s outgoing and exuberant, with a tendency to playfully tease and bicker with her friends and sister, and she believes that since life is fleeting she should enjoy it while she can. It’s a belief she takes very seriously, a lesson learned from four long years of grief and fear during the First World War. She’s made that outlook a part of her, but its significance pales in comparison to what is perhaps the most important aspect of her identity: her speed. Mauretania was built to be a greyhound capable of crossing the Atlantic at an unprecedented pace, and indeed she remained the fastest liner for twenty-two years; in fact, the Blue Riband is her proudest achievement, and she was devastated when her speed record was broken in 1929.
Type: Ocean Liner
Class: Lusitania
Hull/Yard Number: 735
Launch Day: 9/20/1906
Country: United Kingdom
Company: Cunard (later Cunard-White Star)
Other Names: Tuberose
Language: English
Accent: Geordie
Voice Tone: High and clear, bright, full of emotion, usually talks very fast
Height: 6’0” / 72in / 183cm
Hair Colors: White, red, black
Eye Color: Red-orange
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Skills/Abilities: High speed, energy, optimism, ability to run in heels without hindrance, witty banter, fast reflexes
Likes: Running, being in motion, stargazing, playful teasing and bickering, practical jokes, racing, dancing, jazz and swing music, breaking records, life in general
Dislikes: Sitting still, submarines, cruises (as opposed to transatlantic crossings), war, Liverpool (kind of)
Trivia:
As a ship, Mauretania would sometimes steer herself ever-so-slightly off to one side during rough weather so her bow would plunge into the trough of the nearest large wave, sending a spray of seawater up to splash her crew. As a human, she has to find other ways to pull pranks on her loved ones - all in good fun, of course.
She likes to believe that stars are the lights of lost ships, sailing forever in the sky. This helped her cope with the loss of her sister during the war.
She loves swing music, but really, any tune is enough for her to want to dance.
One of her biggest pet peeves is people spelling her name with an I instead of an E. Other misspellings are less annoying to her, as long as they at least remember the E.
Selected Songs:
Frank Sinatra - I’m Gonna Live Till I Die
Celtica Pipes Rock! - Full Steam Ahead

Youthful and idealistic, R101 practically embodies the British Empire’s dream of a future where airships rule the skies. She carries a great deal of pride in both her country and herself, and it’s this pride, combined with her boundless enthusiasm, that drives her actions; it’s also her greatest weakness, however, as she tends to overestimate herself, sometimes with horrible results. It doesn’t help, either, that she’s a poor decision-maker and quick to jump to conclusions: indeed, all those who know R101 can agree that although she’s sweet, she’s also very naive and inexperienced, and most wouldn’t trust her with their lives.
Type: Rigid Airship
Class: R101
Registration: G-FAAW
First Flight: 10/14/1929
Country: United Kingdom
Operator: British Air Ministry
Language: English
Accent: English (Bedford)
Voice Tone: Sweet, somewhat high, light and airy
Height: 5’10” / 70in / 178cm
Hair Color: Blue-gray
Eye Color: Indigo
Alignment: Neutral Good
Skills/Abilities: Floating, charm, good ear for music, shininess
Dislikes: Rain, storms in general, being on the ground, getting wet, fire, snakes
Trivia:
R101 has never actually seen a venomous snake in person, but she’s heard stories of cobras in India and the Middle East and those are enough for her to be afraid of them. It doesn’t matter that she’s an airship and can therefore fly, or that not all snakes are dangerous - she’s scared of them all anyway!
She’s a bit envious of her sister-slash-rival R100. The relationship between the two has always been a rather tense one, too, which doesn’t help.
She really hates getting wet, mostly because she associates the feeling of water with the storm that killed her.
Her favorite book is The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling! Of the stories included therein, her favorite is Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.
Haughty and proud, Normandie has earned herself a reputation for being a pretentious snob. She’d argue that she’s just well aware of her own glory, but in truth that reputation is not at all undeserved, particularly when it comes to the French language. She genuinely believes it when she says she’s the greatest and others are below her, but although her insults aren’t mean-spirited they’re still harsh enough that other ships tend to avoid her, even when she’s genuinely trying to help. Since becoming a human, she’s also developed a fascination with fire; after all, who doesn’t want to conquer the source of their own pain?
Type: Ocean Liner
Class: Normandie
Launch Day: 10/29/1932
Country: France
Company: French Line
Other Names: Lafayette
Other Countries: United States
Other Companies/Navies: US Navy
Language: French, English (begrudgingly)
Accent: French (Saint-Nazaire)
Voice Tone: Smoky, sultry, low, generally smooth but can become harsh and grating when she’s sufficiently upset
Height: 6’4.5” / 76.5in / 195cm
Hair Color: Red and black
Eye Color: Very dark red
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Skills/Abilities: Good aesthetic sense, self-esteem, drawing attention, causing migraines
Dislikes: Americans, speaking English, being called Lafayette, minimalism, most animals, improper use of the French language, Queen Mary
Trivia:
Normandie is insistent that she never be referred to with an article preceding her name; this was actually an official decision from her company!
She has a passion for interior design, particularly lavish art deco aesthetics, and has recently picked up cooking as well!
Despite generally coming across as a raging narcissist who only cares about herself, Normandie can and does feel a great deal of compassion toward those who are hurting. Unfortunately, she doesn’t realize that what helps her may not work for others…
Although she’s mostly fluent in English, she hates speaking it.

Alicia Keys feat. Nicki Minaj - Girl on Fire (Inferno Version)
Although she’s largely learned to live with her pain, Olympic is a ship haunted by the past. Her sisters’ tragic deaths had a terrible impact on her, and she blames herself for failing to save them. As a result, she’s fiercely protective of those in her care, and over the years she’s developed a reputation for being tough and reliable, if a little clumsy and, at times, rather intense. For the most part, though, she’s quite pleasant and generally well-liked; her obvious goodwill and deadpan humor make her more popular than her intimidating, unexpressive exterior might suggest.
Type: Ocean Liner
Class: Olympic
Hull/Yard Number: 400
Launch Day: 10/20/1910
Country: United Kingdom
Company: White Star Line (later Cunard-White Star)
Language: English
Accent: Belfast, working-class (but affects a posh Received Pronunciation accent in formal situations and/or for introductions)
Voice Tone: Low and warm, usually rather flat/unemotional, can sound somewhat husky
Likes: Protecting others, stargazing, witty banter, Charlie Chaplin, the color green
Dislikes: Failure, submarines, frantic/chaotic wireless messages, springtime, reminders of her sisters’ fates
Trivia:
Compared to other merchant ships, Olympic is relatively quick to resort to violence rather than utilizing peaceful conflict resolution skills. However, she usually feels bad about it afterward.
She’s terrified of letting others down; this fear has motivated her throughout her life, although it also causes her to beat herself up over even the smallest perceived failures.
She makes no distinction between physical and emotional pain, and as a result she responds to most injuries - physical or otherwise - with, at most, a comment that she’s been through worse, because as far as she’s concerned nothing can ever outdo the pain of losing her sisters.
Other ships generally agree that she has a strange taste in fashion and decoration, as evidenced by her love of avocado green and tendency to wear her dazzle coat even when it clashes with the rest of her outfit.
Can't just do one, gotta do 'em both. I find it endlessly fascinating how different StreetKid!Val is from Corpo!Val. While their timelines split, fundamentally they are the same Val.
