Random opinion but I dont want Hopper to be reinstated as police chief at the end of s5, I want him to just be some guy who came back from the dead and has a weird bald kid now and suddenly hes married to Joyce Byers??? Everytime someone asks him what happened he tells them a different story. Their family live in a dinky little cabin in the woods (a little bigger than before with some extra bedrooms). Joyce is the breadwinner, Hop lives off his huge annual government pay off and does odd jobs for people around town. He participates in the school's bake sales.

Joyce x Hopper in high school head cannons please

MY BABIES, I LOVE ‘EM

-Hop and Joyce met way back in the day when she was a Freshman and he was a Sophmore in High School.

-Y'ALL KNOW MY BOY HOP WAS A LADIES MAN!

-Joyce was all bright eyed and adorable and somewhat innocent.

-Hop notices her walking around at school with her friends and raises an eyebrow at her. 

-”Hey man, whose that?” he asked with his eyes not leaving her small frame

-”Oh the short one, that’s Joyce.” Lonnie Byers said not paying any attention to Hop or Joyce.

-Hop “casually” bumping into Joyce just to get the opportunity to meet her. 

-”I’m Jim Hopper, but everyone calls me ‘Hop’.”

-”Hop? Well..nice to meet you, Hop,” she says with that signature smile WE ALL LOVE TO SEE.

-Slowly they start to talk more and more and eventually Hop asks her out on a date. 

-”Like a date, date?” she asks with wide eyes 

-”That’s usually what a date is..” he says leaning forward with THAT GOOFY GRIN WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE.

-So they go on their first date at some small diner. 

-THEY LAUGH AND JOKE AROUND THE ENTIRE TIME.

-They kiss for the first time when Hop walks Joyce up the steps of her house.

-If it was anyone else Hop would’ve kissed her right away but it was Joyce that leaned forward and kissed him after he bid her goodnight. 

-They officially start dating after a few more dates. 

-Hop, being the usual ladies man he is known for being puts that persona to the side for his Joy (that’s his nickname for Joyce).

-THEY DO LITERALLY EVERYTHING TOGETHER.

-Joyce loses her virginity to Hop during the summer and he’s so sweet and loving about it *cue the tears*

-Whenever she’s stressed she turns to Hop.

-But then, all it takes is ONE DRUNKEN NIGHT TO FUCK IT ALL UP.

-Hop sleeps with another girl behind Joyce’s back. 

-He plans to keep it a secret but every time he sees her beautiful smiling face he always feels that ugly feeling of guilt creeping up.

-He doesn’t end up telling her because it’s none other than Lonnie that breaks the news to Joyce (that asshole).

-Then it’s no surprise when a few months later Lonnie and Joyce start dating.

-It’s something that Hop to this day still regrets doing.
