I recently saw the most bullshit thing in the world. Someone was talking about the tensions between shipping in the Walking Dead fandom and basically concluded by saying that shippers from opposing ships just couldn't get along or be friends or what have you.

And really?

What is this, kindergarten?

I really respect that you steer the USS Caryl clear of shipping wars and don't get into any of that hate nonsense. It's really no use, just love the ship you love and ship and let ship. You may not be able to 'police' the tag, but you sure can lead by an excellent example. Kudos to you all for taking the high road, may you guide us all there. Shipping with class is what the Goddess MMB wants so we should all be excellent to each other.

The way we see it, this blog isn't about shipping hoo-hoo, it is about Caryl and the TWD and we will always try our best to keep it that way! Thanks, darling!

Gentle reminder to those that would send us shipping related asks. Please keep in mind we do not respond nor publish shipping or character related hate. Even giving allusion of it in an ask is enough for the first mate to make happy use of the delete button.

If you choose to go into the bethyl tag that is your business. But please don’t be surprised at what you find there if you do. (IE: actual bethyl content. Shocker, I know.)

Personally, if you are that bored I recommend taking a stab at our current fanfiction/fanart challenge! Do something productive!

On this blog we fully respect everyone’s right to ship and let ship. We deeply respect the bethyl ship and know they extend to us the same courtesy. As we do for all ships and pairings in this fandom.

We can only hope our followers do the same. We are all in the same fandom family, my loveiles. Sibling rivalry does no one any favors.

someone on a different blog said that Norman said Daryl doesn't see Carol romantically... I'm confused... Can I still have hopes for Caryl? :/ Or was that false?

How someone else views a ship/character/whatever shouldn’t affect your opinions, views, or enjoyment of said ship, dear anon. Even if Caryl never becomes canon, that won’t affect my love of it any less.

PS: But to clarify, unless there is a new interview out there, Norman has not come out and say exactly that. Man, if I had a penny for all the times, you know? This stuff happens EVERY interview or con when shipping stuff is brought up.  We recommend you don’t pay much attention to interviews and con stuff. The cast notoriously flip-flops on stuff and Norman loves to get fans talking. That is the tv game, my friends.

Can anybody boost my caryl feels!!!

Hiya to all caryl shippers so here we are another few month away from the start of season 5 and let me tell you right now I’m finding it hard to think positive about our ship.

After 4 seasons of no offical ship between them and with there been so little caryl last season my feels are just all over the place,I felt like the writtes were pushing daryl and beth on us last season with this new found close friendship,I felt like they were making beth the new carol in his life and I didn’t like that I know people got put together who wouldn’t normally be in each others company that much,but it just felt a little bit like here you go have some beth and daryl action you will like it,to me she is to much of a child still but who are we to make the writters decisions.

If they still don’t make caryl a ship this season and providing they both make it through then I do think I will be stepping away from the ship,if they have daryl find beth and there all let’s be a couple I would find that a very unconvincing relationship after all the things caryl has been through it would just be a stupid idea in my opinion putting him with a girl who is very childish and who doesn’t really know that much about him!!

Hi! I just wanted to say that I appreciated your response and I wanted to let you know that my reason for connecting the idea of a Beth/Tara relationship to the entire Bethyl/Caryl ordeal is because a post suggesting the ship popped up in the Bethyl tagged posted from a Caryler. People like yourself who like the idea because of the two people themselves are completely separate so I wanted to clarify. :) Keep on enjoyin' your ships!

Thank you for your clarification! I suppose I was just wondering at that a bit, because, hey, I do ship Caryl.

But, in all honesty, the fact that I don’t ship Bethyl romantically doesn’t mean me shipping/writing a Tara/Beth fic has anything to do with either Caryl or Bethyl. I guess that is just what I wanted to make clear in my reblog of your post!

Thank you for not being a dick. Seriously I appreciate that not everyone bashes Bethyl. I hate shipper wars and every time iv posted something vaguely Caryl or even has Carol in it, people send me asks like "wait do you ship them now? why?". I don't understand why some get butthurt about seeing their ""competition"" in gifs. Its not like they are making out. Or even if they were, who fucking cares...? In other fandoms you see ships between already-taken characters all the time. Anyway, thanks <3

I was going to post something about common sense, personal taste, and overall human decency in the face of alternative opinions. But hey, we have all heard that song and dance before. Some people just refuse to listen and learn the steps.

Some people aren’t happy or content unless they have something to get indignant about, I think. I mean, by all means get indignant, but respect the fact that people are people and have a variety of opinions that may or may not mesh with yours, nor your idea of what ‘something’ should look like or entail.

That is life. It is a big ol' swath of grey area rather than simple old black and white. And it's glorious, frustrating and million other descriptive words to behold.
