Woah momma that is a hell of a shot for Miss Flare! Way to freaking go Netflix! I love it, a great representation of having her whole life shattered. Finding out the man you thought saved you, a guiding light was a dastardly villain. This running theme of Monsters, how Ryuma is this huge bigshot master swordsman who seeks no glory compared to Shirano the preening charlatan seeking glory. Man I love it, feels like a less wacky Luffy/Buggy dynamic you know? Great themes I have to wonder if we're going to explore now.

Seriously way to go, you got the real star of Monsters down pat.

Chapter 76 - Shirano's Lessons

I love this Monsters adaptation! It is so, so good. The one shot gave you pretty much one episode worth of material so they went with it. Wouldn't have minded this as a mainline anime episode like the Romance Dawn one plopped into Bakura Town. We got Ryuma, we got Shirano, we got precious precious Miss Flare.

The animation is great, benefit of being this oddball Netflix special. Which I'm all for if it's good stuff like this. Psst, Netflix. Rumiko Takahasi's first series Mermaid Saga is real short and would be perfect for a miniseries. I like that they do cool little bits of flair like this. We have time, so why not have fun with it?
