The Story Begins...
Story: The year 2010 is coming to an end. This marks another year into the history of a 4.6 billion year civilization. The ShiroRei have been around since the creation of the world, overseeing almost every aspect of the earth's existence. They have watched over the many changing animals and landscape. They have observed humankind's first movements to learning their vast potentials. All the ShiroRei have cherished Earth dearly, and have kept watch on all organisms for their safety and progression. They first taught humans about fire, rather indirectly. It had always been that way, making it appear as if discoveries have been made even though they were the ones to introduce the new ideas and tools to the world. They have lived with the animals, the plants, and the humans all throughout. They have always been there. But, so have the KuroRei. This dark force in opposition of the ShiroRei is what is responsible for the murder, rape, greed, jealousy, lust, and pure evil. Their origins are a mystery even to the ShiroRei who have only first encountered them when a sibling rivalry over the favoritism from a deity caused the older sibling to kill his younger brother, and be banished from ever having any ties with his family ever again. This individual's severe hatred was not something the ShiroRei had introduced, or would even think of doing so. The work of the KuroRei is full of deception and cruelty, completely against all the ShiroRei stand for. They openly denounce the ShiroRei's teachings and relish in wars and anguish. Every time the ShiroRei manage to form some sort of truce among the nations, the KuroRei have come up with countermoves to fuel more bloodlust into the minds of the world leaders and civilians. Every invasion of a territory, every homicide, every act against humanity has been the product of the KuroRei's ambition...to completely obliterate the ShiroRei. After several millenia of secretively battling against the KuroRei, the ShiroRei have finally taken a stand. A few thousand years ago, they have carefully placed a small portion of their own Rei Ki into generations of families. Through time, there would be a prodigy who could surpass the normal capabilities of humans. Some could heal wounds instantaneously, some could illuminate an entire field, some could revive the recently deceased, some could even ignite melee weapons with a divine light to be used against the forces of darkness. These abilities lie dormant every century within generations of people, so that there would not be a ruckus among the societies and the KuroRei would not catch on to the ShiroRei's counterattack. Any year with a "10" towards the end would signify the reawakening of these abilities for people who have had the genes passed on to them. The "10" indicates the five supreme beings who have governed the ShiroRei and KuroRei since their convocation. Unbeknownst to the ShiroRei, the KuroRei already had plans to take over the world in darkness. They, too, implanted their Rei Ki to specific generations of families to awaken the dark powers they possess. Some could strike sickness to their foes, some could cause complete darkness over fields, some could suck the life force out of others, some could ignite an edifice in flames. These abilities, the purposes being primarily destruction and chaos, are reawakened every year that ends in "10" coincidentally matching the 5 dark and divine beings who have the most power in the KuroRei society. As individuals of today's world, you are to discover where you lie in this world of corruption. Are you an individual who has Divine Rei Ki and powers of divinity to cleanse this dying world? Or are you an individual who has been infused with Infernal Rei Ki and abilities that will wreak havoc to destroy everything? Perhaps you are a mere observer of the happenings and do not have any special attributes, only an awareness? Are you one of the ShiroRei or the KuroRei, beings who have a lifespan of a thousand years who have watched over the world since the beginning? Choose your role and walk your own path, before this world swallows you.
1) Divine Rei Ki: This individual is a normal human being who has the Rei Ki (spiritual energy) given to him/her by one of the ShiroRei (the powerful beings who have watched over Earth). This means he/she lives a normal life but notices some abilities he/she has that seem to be a bit out of place with the rest of the world. 2) Infernal Rei Ki: This individual is a normal human being who has the Rei Ki (spiritual energy) given to him/her by one of the KuroRei(the powerful beings who want to destroy Earth). This means he/she lives a normal life but notices some abilities he/she has that seem to be a bit out of place with the rest of the world. 3) No Rei Ki: This individual is a normal human being. 4) ShiroRei: This being is actually not human. They do have gender, but only so they can reproduce. However, they are unlike humans in that they need fertilized eggs for reproduction. Whenever a new ShiroRei is born, the two parents distribute a significant portion of their Rei Ki into the formation of a new ShiroRei. This process takes several weeks and the parent ShiroRei are left with half of their original Rei Ki, thus being significantly weaker. This is why there is much debate whether or not reproduction should be commonplace and only for those who have an excessive amount of Rei Ki. 5) KuroRei: This being is actually not human. They do have gender, but only so they can reproduce. However, they are unlike humans in that they need fertilized eggs for reproduction. Whenever a new KuroRei is born, the two parents fight to the death. The victor devours the lifeless body of the loser and channels the dead KuroRei's Rei Ki into the formation of a new KuroRei. This process takes several weeks but the parent KuroRei is left with his/her remaining Rei Ki and a newborn KuroRei. This is why there is only ever one caregiver for a KuroRei at all times whenever a new KuroRei is to be born. This causes the KuroRei to have less numbers, but this is covered for with their maintained amount of Rei Ki which is lost with the ShiroRei's reproduction process.
