[i can't help but imagine the cost of living in konoha with those payouts.

((Though some moderating factors to consider:

 - these paychecks may be split between the people going on the mission, so some of these might be getting split into quarters or even eighths. 

-Chuunin and genin are also probably encouraged not to just train to maintain their skills but to spend a lot of time growing them, meaning they cannot go on missions as often and also study up and practice new techniques.

With higher ranking missions especially:

- if a shinobi gets injured they could be out of the job for days, weeks, months, or even permanently

-Some missions are long term meaning that might be the only pay check they get for weeks or months until they complete their next mission even if uninjured

- Shinobi hopefully get paid more because of risk of dying))
