WIP Wednesday

Bones AU. It’s at 40k and still growing but it’s getting there. Chapter 3 is wild, y’all.

Alex is three miles into his run when he hits the industrial park. It’s not his usual route, nor is it his usual pace. His body aches to go faster, but he ignores it.

His phone is silenced and in his pocket. His earbuds are in, but there is no music to distract him. It’s late, nearing midnight, but the dark sweatpants and black hoodie are enough to keep out the early autumn chill. He runs on.

Alex leaves the main road and weaves around a few of the office buildings, avoiding the orange light of the street lamps, before finding the entrance he was looking for. He takes out a key card and swipes it, opening the door just enough to pass through before closing it gently behind him.

The place is dimly lit and the air is musty. There’s a layer of dust over every surface and more than a few outdated computers. Alex takes off his hood and his headphones and does a quick sweep of the shabby offices lining the walls. Then he addresses the man waiting for him in a cubicle in the center of the large room.

“Senator Richards,” Alex says, shaking his hand, “Thank you for agreeing to meet with me.”

Random thought I had while listening to some music:

In a different timeline in the spy au, where Shu was betrothed to another person to keep the peace between two clans. He and Raoul were both heartbroken, but there's nothing they could do, it's for the peace of the Todoroki clan after all. Fast forward to the wedding day, the bride was apparently an assassin who attempted to kill Shu and his father. Shu and Raoul stop her (and her associates of course), and after all that, Raoul confesses his true feelings for Shu.

Idk, it was in my head for a while.

Raoul had put up a brave front as legions and legions of Todoroki clan servants carefully adjusted the kimono to fit perfectly on his body. They were doing the same on the Todoroki heir, making sure that the Todoroki Ka-Riu crest was visible to all. The women cooing to him fell into white noise as he focused on the overly groomed appearance of Shu, ill fitting and unsuited for the true Todoroki he'd come to discover in the GSO. The snowy white puff in front was currently being toyed with by the Japanese heir, a sure sign of anxiousness from Raoul's personal observation.

Both knew that the Kaname clan wedding was long due, an arranged marriage from long before Shu was even born. Yua, the princess of the Kaname clan had arrived with her entourage of bodyguards and sycophants fawning over her like a celebrity. She never would be comfortable watching the life drain from her enemies' eyes, shooting a gun, nor watching for signs of manipulation from the corners of her eyes. Raoul and Shu knew that from a single glance at her that someone else had taken her place and that they would need to be cautious.

The GSO currently was hands off from this, leaving as "family business" for the Todoroki to do as they please. Raoul was currently under the cover as a long distance friend from France that Todoroki met at university and kept contact with over the years. The Kaname family, especially the oyabun made disparaging comments at the French gaijin outsider. Aimed mostly at his dyed silver blue hair, numerous ear piercings and a single nose stud, and androgynous features.

Yet Shu could do nothing to defend his closest friend lest the Kaname clan felt insulted and went back to war. The Todoroki needed time to rebuild itself back to the top and the Kaname family was more than willing to fund them.They even footed the dowry for Yua as a gift for the Todoroki. A little too willing, if you asked Raoul.

He wasn't alone in that suspicion. The Todoroki second in command and the head bodyguard/tutor of a young heir were eying the Kaname family. They had gathered that several raids on Todoroki owned businesses were backed by dirty cops who pocketed Kaname bribe money and had suspiciously stopped once Shu's father and oyabun of the Todoroki agreed to reestablish the arranged marriage. Shu agreed to secretly hiding weapons for the both of them and additional protection.

Now, it was their turn to dress the spies. Laying kevlar on the chest, arms and neck while giving the illusion that they were unprotected. Since the san-san-ku-do only had the bride, groom and best man/bridesmaid in the space, that would be the best opportunity to kill Shu.

Raoul was gifted a set of throwing needles from the armory of the Todoroki, not missing the knowing wink from the bodyguard and second in command. All of them knew (with the exception of Shu) that Shu's feelings for the French ran much deeper and more complex than he realized.

The private army of bodyguards would be out in the reception to protect the senior Todoroki head and executives while Shu and Raoul dealt with the assassin.

The final sip of the san-san-ku-do was tense like bridge cables as Shu kept an ear on the imposter bride as Raoul recited the vows. The realization that Raoul was important to Shu must've crossed the face of the imposter Yua and for one moment, pure rage crossed her face upon the conclusion of the vow.

At once the bride brandished a tanto to sink in between Shu's ribs, Raoul threw the needle on instinct and impaled the hand while Shu drew the family blade passed to him by the oyabun to point at her throat. The little blade clattered to the ground as Shu then pulled out a taser and jammed the prongs into the neck, shocking the would be assassin into unconsciousness. Raoul then produced zip ties to bind her hands and feet.

Both spies drew out their guns and joined the fight outside to snipe at Kaname enforcers from their position. Several of the Kaname family members were killed personally by Shu, aiming deliberately at joints, arms and even directly at a members crotch. All to drag out the pain before a single shot to the head to finish them off.

Only in the aftermath that the head of the Kaname clan was brought out to witness the total annihilation of everything he had worked for and unceremoniously executed with a shot to the back of the head. Shu was caught up in the bloodlust and Raoul covered in residue and blood of his enemies led to the perfect storm of his emotions breaking through.

His sullied, avenging angel all for him and no one would stand in their way anymore and kissed Raoul Çaroule fully with tongue in front of all the Todoroki Yakuza. Raoul just went with the kiss and on separating, a repeated torrent of "Je t'aime. Je mourrais pour tois." spilled out in an obsession conceived from the moment he laid eyes on him in the mission recruiting Zhang Wei Long.To say that his father saw it coming was the understatement of the decade. He knew of Shu's preference for the French spy when he reconnected with Shu for the wedding. From that moment on, Shu had his own nickname for Raoul, l'ange dechu, the fallen angel who came to drag him to who knows where.

Demigod AU - was initially based off Percy Jackson but then spread to Riordan’s others stories and mythologies and all I can fully remember is that Blue is actually from Norse mythology instead of Greek like everyone thought for a while, and Red is a seer, and also Holy Shit

Backseat Drivers - an older one where Aki(bizarro Kai from the clone episode) and Smith are stuck in Red’s head and trying to get him to do what they want

All Cryptids AU - pretty much everyone’s some manner of Cryptid or creature whether they realize it or not and the show and movie universe’s exist in the same one. Red is a werewolf, Boreas/Julien is a fae king, and they’re both very in love with eachother

For everyone who is enjoying the Goncharov(1973) discourse on this hellsite, might I recommend a book.

Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves.

It has a very similar vibe to a lot of these posts. And it's very enjoyable. It's about a guy names Johnny putting together a book which was written by a guy named Zampanò which is a commentary on a documentary called The Navidson Record. The documentary is about the house Navidson and his family moved into which starts to break the laws of space and physics, resulting in a seemingly endless hallway off of their living room.

The Navidson Record does not exist.

There are a bunch of references in the book, about half of which don't exist.

Shit gets weird fast. It's a wild ride but a fun read. It is about 700 pages long but some of those pages have literally 1 word on them as the actual text gets funky starting somewhere around the second third of the book. I've never read another book quite like this one.

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. If you're enjoying the unreality of Martin Scorsese's 1973 film Goncharov, give it a read.

The Three Jokers (Jason Todd/Red Hood X Scarlet Witch!Reader) Part 1-The Clown (Preview)

This is inspired off the original four-part comic special, 'The Three Jokers'. Mind you, this will get graphic, violent and even a little explicit (if you read the comic, you probably know why I say that), so please skip this story if you aren't comfortable with what happened in this story.

Now, Reader, at a young age, was experimented on by Scarecrow, who used her as a test subject. However, when she built up an immunity to the fear toxin, Crane used a different toxin/drug he created that, unbeknownst to him, unlocked a super gene she didn't know she had, giving her psionic powers and unleashing her Chaos Magic. With her new powers, she escaped and was found by Batman, who then took her in. This is how she meet Jason and they become friends, later becoming lovers, even after his torture and death at the Joker's hand, his resurrection and becoming the Red Hood.

P.S.: Your costume is the same as Wanda's Scarlet Witch attire as the end of WandaVision.
