I know this is gonna be a hot take, but I think that my favorite scene from Goncharov is the children's hospital scene, when Andrey, Katya, and Ice Pick Joe are helping repaint the walls. I think that it adds a level of humanity to the characters, it adds a level that tells us that they aren't just criminals. They are people as well. They had hopes, dreams and goals. I think its one of the things that makes Ice Pick Joe's death that much more painful, because we get to see his humanity. His last words, as he bleeds out in Andrey's arms "One, two, two, one, underscore. It is truly a loss that those closest to us are the ones that we hurt the most..." Really show how his character has developed from the beginning of the film.
