What’s it with writers and ruining characters and storylines lately? First Jaime Lannister, then Ben Solo, now Bellamy Blake. I’m losing all my emotional support reformed assholes.

brother and i were talking about how i havent really liked any new shows or movies since game of thrones and i pretty much just watch the same things ive seen before now but like i love the mandalorian i simply adore it

and he was like “what would make the mandalorian’s ending worse than got?” and i was like uh idk gotta be din punting the baby across the galaxy ig

I can’t believe comparatively GoT was more optimistic because most of the Starks were alive at the end and even though Dany’s writing was BS she died on a path towards greater conquest/“”villainy”” and not right after a redemption

Hm, I think Dany’s treatment (in isolation) is far worse than the one Ben got—’cause in the end Ben dies heroically and doing a purely selfless gesture that makes him the true hero of the ST, while Dany goes from hero to villain and dies basically backstabbed by the one person she trusted.

But considering the difference between the two franchises—the genre, the target, the promises the creators made? SW did something even worse imo.

Because GoT never promised a hopeful, happy ending. They tried to warn us in a million ways that this wouldn’t be the story we’d get. GRRM himself said the ending would be bittersweet. And bittersweet it was (for everyone except Dany, at least).

But JJ and KK and everyone else kept harping on how this movie was about “hope” and “a satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga” and LIKE FUCK THIS IS HOPEFUL OR SATISFYING. How does this do Leia justice. What did Han die for. How is Luke’s mistake truly redeemed, if Ben dies without having a single chance at happiness, healing and atonement. Nah he only gives his life force to save Rey and THAT’S IT. As much as I ship Reylo, this is profoundly unjust and unbalanced and it almost breaks the ship for me. (almost)

I just really feel like Stranger Things is falling into the trap that Game of Thrones did, where there's still a whole bunch of story to tell but not enough time. Like, why is Holly all of a sudden such a big character during the FINAL SEASON, when all we want to see is the resolution of our favorite characters? Why was she not made more prominent during earlier seasons if they really wanted to spend this much time so focused on her?

Also, it felt cheap for Dustin to just stumble upon Brenner's journal and within the span of like five minutes, have all the answers to the viewer's biggest questions. It's so rushed. So forced. The Duffer Brothers claimed to try and learn from GOT's mistakes, why is that not showing?

Idk why but i thought since i had a really bad stomach ache and cramps, that takin laxative would cure me. Wrong. I made my pain way worse for like 12 hours.
