Current thoughts: Maybe really shitty pop songs that idolize stupid shit, and romanticize damaging relationship dynamics are alright. Because if you disagree with them, it means you are thinking critically, you are self aware, you are an effective and engaged individual. And if you agree with them, this will hasten you to the inevitable conclusions of your beliefs, so you can bottom out, and find yourself sooner than later, and rebuild yourself on a stronger foundation.

i always feel immensely sad that my friends from school only listen to the shitty pop songs that are all trash and i'm here listening to bon iver and the neighbourhood (btw not saying all pop songs are trash)

I tagged this "shitty pop" because that's what I do, but truly this is the opposite. The song is so powerful, the music video is so creepily intricate and interesting. I love when pop can do sad without veering into ballads. I love the big production! IT'S ALL SO GOOD.
