I mean he was basically having a heart attack and still crawled towards her. He held Lucy's unconscious body, turned into a demon, almost killed his best friend and beat Brandish to an inch of her life out of grief. He was also fighting for her when beating Zeref. He took her small comments into account and they gave him an extra push. He thanked Lucy to himself when he knew she saved his life. Plus, he was planning on confessing to her after the war before he disappeared. Isn't that devoted? :0
