User Interface Ideas for Therapists Application
A lot of people may ask, “What is a modern web app?”, and there are several different answers that I could provide them. A modern web application is something that we use pretty much every day of our lives now, available at all times of the day. They should all be handled with rich user experiences to bring back the clients over and over throughout the life of the application. One of the biggest stepping stones in which helps a ton of developers with creating web apps is the help of Ben Shneiderman and Catherine Plaisant with Designing the User interface.
In order to have those rich experiences with applications I have to know and understand the type of application I am creating. I am building a small, web based application that can help clients find a therapist near them that fits all of the requirements that they are looking for in a doctor. Weather that be finding one that takes your insurance, is there right therapist for your needs, or even the distance from the doctor. Since I am creating an application with sociotechnical systems, I would base what I create off those specifics by how to design a user interface.
Shneiderman states that those types of applications you want to help with health support, or verification and I have to deal with a lot of trust, privacy, and responsibly issues. My app should be extremely secure, safe, and easy to use. Whoever uses my application to find a doctor, I want them to have an experience where they can clearly see all the features, and want to come back to using my application. One of the biggest topics that Shneiderman talks about in research development of applications is usability. My application should have five of the main core measurements of this: learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction. I hope that with my project - I am able to create an application that have very minimal errors. Some of the top priorities for me in my application are learnability, memorability, and satisfaction. The easier the application is to use, the fewer the errors and the more the users want to return to the application. The more the users match my mind set when I created the application, the more it leads to success for my application. I hope to bring all of the topics Shneiderman talks about in his research to my web application.

Promoting widespread creativity raises expectations that may change employment patterns, educational systems, and community norms. Introducing computer supports for creativity may produce greater social inequality as it raises the costs for those who wish to participate. (119)
