Perfect
Some ShokWall fluff
.
“That time already?” Thom groaned as he rolled onto his back, the sun beaming in through the windows. He lifted his arm and lay it across his eyes, shielding them from the early morning rays that the curtains couldn’t block out. “Best get up.”
“You don’t have to.” Shokrakar spoke softly, lay on his side, his head resting on his arm. He slowly rubbed Thom’s stomach with his hand, letting the large amount of body hair tickle his fingers. “We could just lie here all day, just me and you…” Rain gurgled in her bed. “And Rain.” Shokrakar laughed softly.
Thom rolled onto his side, his eyes still adjusting to being open. “If it were up to you, all we’d do is lie in bed together.” Thom smiled softly, looking up at Shokrakar before letting out a loud yawn. “Not that I’d complain but we need to eat, need wood for the fire.”
Shokrakar lifted his hand and tangled it in Thom’s hair. “That’s not all we’d do...but the other things I’m thinking of do involve being in bed, so you’re half right.” His lips curled into a grin as he played with Thom’s hair. “Just a few moments longer, you’re usually gone before I wake up, I miss you.”
“I’m here, Shok.” Thom spoke quietly, but with meaning. He moved in closer and lay his head onto Shokrakar’s broad chest, closing his eyes as Shokrakar’s arms wrapped around him and held him close. “Alright, a few more moments.” Thom felt Shokrakar’s warmth engulf him, making it easy for him to fall back to sleep, he tried to fight it but couldn’t. Thom drifted back off to sleep, holding onto Shokrakar.
“Thom?” Shokrakar whispered when Thom’s snoring began again. “I think Papa’s fallen back to sleep.” Shokrakar chuckled as he talked to Rain. He placed a kiss onto Thom’s head, his rough, calloused, fingers trailing up and down his sleeping husband’s back.
A few hours passed and Thom woke up, still in bed, but alone. Shokrakar must have slipped off. “Maker…” Thom sighed, he climbed out of bed and grabbed his robe, wrapping it around him. He looked over to Rain’s bed, she was gone too. He hummed thoughtfully and headed out of the bedroom to look for his family, he followed the sound of their giggling.
They were in the kitchen, Rain sat in her highchair, food all over her face, beaming a large smile. Shokrakar had a bowl in one hand, filled with porridge, and a spoon in the other, also smiling. “Here comes the dragon!” He cheered as he made the spoon swoop through the air then into Rain’s mouth, she ate the porridge from the spoon then clapped happily. “That’s my big girl.” Shokrakar told her, pride in his voice as his precious daughter ate her porridge, a simple act but one that meant a lot.
Thom leaned on the door frame of the kitchen, he swallowed the lump in his throat and blinked away the tear in his eye as he watched them. He never would have believed this was where his life was leading, never believed he could be this happy, didn’t think he deserved it. He wished he could go back, just a moment before he blocked the arrow heading for Shokrakar with his shield and tell his past self this is where he would be, maybe give his past self some hope. This was his family, this was his future, the past no longer mattered, this is where he wanted to be.
Shokrakar turned his head. “Ah, you’re finally up!” He laughed happily. “Saved you some porridge, added salt, just how you like it...you alright?” He tilted his head.
Thom nodded. “I’m perfect, everything is...perfect.”
oooooh 7 “Can I kiss you?” for shokwall? ive Missed them
Fuck yeah I’ve missed them too
Shokrakar felt every single one of his joints aching, there was no way he was going dancing, he could barely keep himself up right. He knew he was getting older, but days like this really made him realise just how much. Years of fighting, running, jumping from things, and general wear and tear was beginning to catch up with him, the Inquisition might just be his last fight and that terrified him. He looked around, only the mountains of Halamshiral were in his sight, he leaned onto the edge of the balcony, taking a deep breath as it took some of his weight, allowing him just a small moment of rest.
Rest. He hadn’t had a rest since this whole thing began, when he felt close a messenger would come and get him for what seemed a petty problem but a problem that was up to him to fix. No matter his feelings, or his aching body, this is what he had to do. People were depending on him, lives hanging by a thread on whether or not he could defeat Corypheus, but tonight at the Winter Palace, Shokrakar only hoped he had at least dealt a huge blow to Corypheus, Florianne was dead, so was Celene but that didn’t seem like such a bad thing. Shokrakar closed his eyes and breathed in the fresh evening air.
“Out here alone?” Came a voice from Shokrakar, he whipped his head around to see Blackwall stood in the doorway, a small smile on his face.
“Just grabbing some air.” Shokrakar smiled back before turning his head back towards the mountains.
Blackwall walked forward and leaned next to him, he didn’t say anything, just leaned there, looking up at Shokrakar. Shokrakar turned his head and looked Blackwall up and down.
“I’ve never seen you dressed like that...you look good, but the rugged look is more you.”
Blackwall let out a laugh and shook his head. “Another life, this is all I wore.”
“Hm?” Shokrakar raised a brow.
“A story for another time.” Blackwall looked at the night sky, filled with stars, shining brighter than he’d seen before, then his gaze returned to Shokrakar. “Can I kiss you?”
“What?” Shokrakar laughed a little, assuming Blackwall was joking.
“Can I kiss you? Here. Now.” The tone in Blackwall’s voice made it clear that he was serious.
Shokrakar looked over his shoulder, nobles were hovering, gossiping, trying to see what he was doing. He and Blackwall had kept their relationship pretty private up until now, only his inner circle really knew, but people suspected, they weren’t as subtle as they liked to think. Maybe this was Blackall’s way of saying he didn’t want it to be a secret anymore.
Shokrakar didn’t answer, he placed one hand onto Blackwall’s cheek, holding his face gently. He leaned in until their lips met, Blackwall leaned up onto his toes to meet him halfway. Shokrakar’s ear twitched when he heard a gasp from the room behind him, if his lips weren’t busy he would have smirked. Blackwall’s hands pressed against Shokrakar’s chest, it didn’t matter how many times he and Shokrakar had kissed, it always made his head spin, his heart skip a beat. He loved Shokrakar, he really did.
Blackwall’s hands made their way up Shokrakar’s chest, to his shoulders, then his arms wrapped around Shokrakar’s neck. He pulled himself up a little more, then moved his lips away from Shokrakar’s and pressed them to Shokrakar’s ear. “I love you.” He whispered softly, only for his lover to hear.
Shokrakar nuzzled his face into Blackwall’s neck, his arms wrapped around his waist. “I love you, too.”
Day 1- Waking Up Together
30 Days of Domestic fluff challenge
A usual morning for Shokrakar and Thom (Blackwall)
-
As the early morning sun shone in through his bedroom window, Thom slowly opened his eyes. The birds were chirping, the wind blew softly through the trees. Thom lifted his large hand and rubbed his eyes, yawning loudly. He lay still for a moment, allowing himself to adjust to being awake. His morning’s were rather typical, nothing too exciting happened. He would wake up, make breakfast, chop some wood for the fire, and then see where the day would lead him. Most would have considered it a boring life, but it was just how Thom liked it, especially since he had Shokrakar along with him.
It had only been a couple of months since the Inquisition had ended, but they had settled into the simple life quiet well. Shokrakar had gotten used to his new arm, with the help of Thom it had been fairly easy for him to adjust, Thom had always made sure that Shokrakar was comfortable. They had moved into a small wooden house, one they had built together, far out into the forest, private, peaceful, just for them.
Thom felt Shokrakar’s large body pressed against his back, his arm wrapped around his waist. Thom slowly adjusted his position and rolled over, so he was now facing Shokrakar. Blackwall looked up to watch Shokrakar’s face, he looked so peaceful when he slept, his whole face relaxed, his lips curled into a natural smile. Thom ran his hand over Shokrakar’s chest, his fingers stroking through the grey curls of hair. Shokrakar rumbled a little, his face twitching. Thom stopped immediately, which made Shokrakar fall still again. Thom chuckled and shook his head, he slowly slipped away from Shokrakar’s strong grip.
“Time for breakfast,” Thom told himself, he placed his feet onto the ground, standing from the bed, and stretched his limbs.
“Leaving me all alone, huh?” Came a familiar gruff voice from the bed, Shokrakar opened his eye, looking up at Blackwall with a smile.
Thom jumped a little. “I could never do that,” he answered and turned to face Shokrakar. “Thought you might have appreciated breakfast in bed.”
“I’d rather have you in bed,” Shokrakar smirked, he reached up and took hold of Thom’s arm and pulled him into the bed.
Thom hit the bed with a loud laugh, playfully fighting Shokrakar. “We’re going to have to get up at some point.” He hummed. Shokrakar’s arms wrapped around him and pulled him in close.
“Do we?” Shokrakar asked. “Because I’m pretty sure we could lie here for a little longer and the world won’t end.”
“It’s a good thing you didn’t have that attitude when you were the Inquisitor.” Thom chuckled, he leaned in and placed a soft peck onto Shokrakar’s lips, his hands running up and down his muscular arms, giving the muscles a squeeze as he did.
“I tried,” Shokrakar spoke against Thom’s lips. “Josephine would send someone to come and get me.”
Thom huffed and leaned back a little. “Come on, I’ll make us breakfast and then you can watch me chop would.” Shokrakar groaned happily. “You know me so well, I love you.”
“I love you, too.” Thom stole another kiss from his lover before the pair left their bed to begin the day.
Day 4- Night In
30 Days of Domestic Fluff Challenge
A relaxed night for Shok and Thom.
-
A man on a horse rode up to the house, Shokrakar was out front tending to his vegetable patch. The man on the horse gave Shokrakar a bundle of letters, he was obviously a messenger, before riding off back into the forest and away from the house. Shokrakar sighed as he went through the letters, he didn’t even need to open them to know what they were. The first clue was the writing, fancy and curled, hard for him to read, the second clue was the wax seal, Orlesian seals kind of all looked the same but different at the same time.
Shokrakar went back into the house and dropped the letters onto the living room table, Thom was sitting in his chair, reading through a book. He was so engrossed that he barely heard Shokrakar come in, until the letters hit the table. He placed his bookmark into the book and closed it, looking up at Shokrakar.
“More party invitations?” Thom asked.
Shokrakar nodded, sitting in the opposite chair with a loud sigh. “Yeah, I’ve only just gotten back from a week of them and now here’s another ten, I’m exhausted.”
“You don’t have to go.” Thom said softly. “Not if you don’t want to.”
“I...it’s just,” Shokrakar rubbed his neck and groaned, as he always did when he was stressed. “If the Inquisition does need to be reborn and they need me again, we’ll need the support, I don’t want whispers that I’ll be a bad leader and that we don’t deserve support.”
Thom took hold of Shokrakar’s hand. “My love, no one will think that just because you didn’t attend a few parties...how about…” Thom hummed. “I help you write some polite rejection letters and we have a nice, calm, romantic night together?”
“I-I’d like that,” Shokrakar closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “I miss Josephine, she could always get me out of things.” He chuckled.
“Aye, she was very helpful.” Thom took the letters, he opened them, but barely read them, just got enough information to send a rejection. They’d send them off tomorrow, for now Thom wanted to plan a relaxing night for Shokrakar.
Shokrakar returned to his vegetable patch until night time had fallen over their house, leaving Thom alone in the house. When he returned, he had found that Thom had been true to his word. The fireplace was lit, warming the whole living room, the candles were also lit, giving the room a soft, gentle, glow. Shokrakar sniffed the air and walked into the kitchen.
“Ah, was gonna come get you.” Thom smiled brightly. “I’ve made dinner.” He placed two large meals down onto the dining table, he had opened a bottle of wine for them, and lit more candles so the kitchen also looked romantic.
“Thom this is...I love you.”
“I love you too,” Thom sat at the table. “Come on, before it gets cold.”
Shokrakar sat at the table, he and Thom ate their meals, enjoying the food and each other’s company. When they were done, they placed their plates to one side, they would wash them in the morning. They enjoyed some leftover cake they had gotten when they were last in Orlais, they always got themselves a treat when they were there.
They made their way into the living room, taking their glasses of wine with them. Thom had a blanket ready for them to cuddle under, the two men got comfortable on their couch, Shokrakar lay his head onto Thom’s shoulder, completely relaxing against his lover. Thom covered them both up, making sure they were both tucked in.
“Comfy?” Thom asked.
“Very,” Shokrakar nodded, wrapping his arms around Thom’s waist. “Thank you, I needed this.”
Thom picked up his book. “Want me to read to you?”
Shokrakar nodded.
Thom began to read to Shokrakar, picking up from where he left last time. Shokrakar closed his eyes and listened to Thom talk. It didn’t take Shokrakar long to fall asleep, Thom smiled as his reading turned silent. He too would drift off soon, keeping his lover close by on the couch.
Warm. Relaxed. Happy.
Day 3- Doing Laundry
30 Days of Fluff Challenge
Thom comes home filthy, but not for long.
-
Thom let out a heavy sigh as he finally reached his home, it had been a long day, he had chopped wood for the fire, and went hunting for something for his and Shokrakar’s dinner, he had managed to hunt down a reasonably sized Elk. He had lifted it onto his shoulders and carried it home, it would make a few good meals for them, and also some for Loaf, their dragon, so all in all, not a bad day. There had been worse days where he had only managed to catch a rabbit or a small fish, but they managed.
Thom was filthy, though. Covered in mud and dirt, he had slipped a couple times whilst out hunting, and also had to get low to the ground so he wouldn’t be noticed. He carried the Elk into the kitchen and placed it onto the floor with a huff, he would prep it later, right now he just wanted to sit down. He sat on one of the wooden stools he and Shokrakar had in the kitchen, catching his breath. He wasn’t a young man anymore and sometimes he really felt it, today being one of those days, but he’d be fine after a rest.
Shokrakar came into the kitchen and paused. His eyes immediately went to the big, muddy, boot prints on the floor. He took a deep breath, usually he would let it go but had only been five minutes since he’d swept the floor. He looked Thom up and down, it wasn’t just his boots, his whole husband was filthy, his clothes, skin, hair, he was more mud than man at this point.
“Thom…” He said softly. “Why don’t you go and get cleaned up?”
“I will soon, my love.” Thom looked up at his lover. “Got this elk to prepare.”
Shokrakar’s voice got a little stern. “We can do that later, you go and wash up and I’ll get these clothes nice and clean for you.” Shokrakar leaned in and placed a small kiss onto Thom’s lips.
“Alright,” Thom nodded. “I do feel kind of grumby, I’ll bring my clothes down.”
“Or, just...take them off here.” Shokrakar suggested. “Nothing I haven’t seen before.”
Thom chuckled and stripped right there in the kitchen, kicking his boots off first, then his clothes, he handed them to Shokrakar then headed into the bathroom to clean up. Shokrakar placed the clothes to one side for now, he swept up the dirt from Thom’s boots, placing the boots outside by the back door. When he had finished sweeping he filled a bucket with water and grabbed the washboard. By the time he was ready to clean the clothes, Thom had finished himself.
“Let me help,” Thom offered with a smile, getting onto his knees next to Shokrakar. “It’ll be quicker if we both do it.”
“What about the elk?”
“I can do that later, I want to help you.”
A small, soft, smile slipped onto Shokrakar’s lips. “Alright, we only have one wash board so you’ll have to do some of it by hand.”
Thom nodded. “Alright, I can do that.”
Shokrakar started with Thom’s pants, Thom started with his socks, since he was doing it by hand, he decided something small would be a little easier. The two men worked hard to get the dirt and blood off the clothes, they had to change the water a couple of times, which it began to look dark and swampy. Their hands would bump against each other and they would giggle and nudge each other, maybe share a small kiss too.
“I think we are done,” Shokrakar huffed, his arms ached from all the scrubbing, it had taken longer than planned. “Let’s hang it up, you can get some rest and I’ll make dinner.” Shokrakar and Thom both got to their feet and began to hang the washing on the line attached to their house.
“No, no, I can handle it.”
“No,” Shokrakar said sternly. “You hunted, chopped wood, and helped me wash up, I will make dinner whilst you rest by the fire.”
“You’re too good to me,” Thom sighed. “I don’t deserve you.”
“Stop that, I love you, that’s all that matters.”
“I love you too, so much.”
“Softie…c’mon...lets get you fed.”
Day 2- Morning Routine
30 Days of Domestic Fluff Challenge
What Shokrakar and Thom get up to when they wake up.
-
“Good morning,” Shokrakar grumbled, placing a lazy kiss onto the back of Thom’s head, his muscular arms wrapped around his lover’s waist, their bodies pressed tightly together under the covers. The sun had only just come up, everything was still a little hazy. Shokrakar ran hand over the curve of Thom’s stomach, his fingers running through the soft, black, body hair.
“Mornin’,” Thom hummed softly, he rolled over to face Shokrakar, placing his hands onto the other man’s hips. He leaned in for his good morning kiss, as he usually did. Their bodies had synced and they both often woke as soon as the sun came up. Thom was the first who usually got up early, it had started when they were both in the Inquisition.
The sun would come up and fill the stables he used to sleep in, and that would be his call to get up and start his day, Shokrakar was usually awoken by a messenger sent by Josephine, usually to remind him that he had a war meeting that day, or any other kind of meeting he didn’t want to attend. At the start, Shokrakar had found the simple life hard to adjust to, being a mercenary for most of his life then the Inquisitor, he’d never really had a life to himself and now he did, he didn’t realise how much he appreciated simple things until he had them.
“What’s the plan for today?” Shokrakar asked, giving Thom a small nuzzle before holding him against his chest, his hand now stroking Thom’s back.
Thom closed his eyes for a moment, snuggling in closer to Shokrakar. “If I could, I’d just stay here all day.” He chuckled. “We need more fire wood, might go fishin’ for dinner, you’re always welcome to join me, appreciate the company.”
“I like the sound of that,” Shokrakar smiled. “Suppose we should get up and wash up, was a hot night last night.”
“I noticed the smell,” Thom teased, pulling a small snort from Shokrakar.
The two men peeled themselves out of bed and went off into the bathroom, Shokrakar filled the basin with water, Thom prepared their towels. Shokrakar began with his usual face wash, making sure he cleaned everywhere and didn’t miss a wrinkle, Thom dunked his hair, massaging his fingers in, Shokrakar often helped him was his hair, and Thom loved it, Shokrakar really knew how to work his fingers.
When that was done, Shokrakar would begin on his beard, using the cream he crafted himself to keep it nice and soft, a mask for it of sorts, this would take a while, so Thom would head to the kitchen and begin breakfast, and also feed their pets. Daisy, their nug, would have their leftover vegetable and fruit scraps, which she loved, and Loaf would get a large piece of meat cut from their hunts, which he also loved. Then the four of them would have breakfast together. It was as if they had always been like this, like from day one it had been the four of them living happily together in their small, wooden, house. Their pasts didn’t matter, there was no talk of them, the Inquisition barely mentioned. They were happy.
They would always be happy.
Day 7- Exercise
30 Days of Domestic Fluff Challenge
Shok exercises, Thom watches.
NSFW-ISH
Thom sat in the living room, extremely comfortable in his favourite chair, he was just about to take an afternoon nap, until he heard an unusual noise. It was a noise he was familiar with, but usually he heard it in the bedroom. He hummed thoughtfully, listening to it intently. Maybe Shokrakar was having some alone time, although that was rare, he wasn’t afraid to let Thom know he was in the mood to get up close and personal, and Thom rarely turned it down either. Thom stood from his chair and began to follow the nose, curious to say the least.
He reached the back door, was Shokrakar really being so open about what he was doing? Sure, their home was hidden away in the privacy of the forest, but it didn’t mean someone wouldn’t ride past, possibly a hunter, or an explorer. Thom peaked out the backdoor, and breathed a heavy sigh of relief when it became clear what Shokrakar was really doing. Push ups. Shirtless, push ups. He must have been doing them for a while, the Qunari’s large body glistened in sweat, sparkling like a jewel in the sun. Thom leaned on the door frame, completely taken in by what his lover was doing.
Shokrakar had kept himself in good shape, even after the Inquisition. His body was still tight, and firm. There wasn’t any part of him that wasn’t muscular. Thom would have loved him no matter what, but he had to admit that it was a plus. Thom was in good form, but some of his areas, his belly in particular, was more rounded and soft, and Shokrakar loved it, he often found himself rubbing and kissing Thom’s stomach, enjoying the feeling of the hair that covered it tickling his fingers. Thom enjoyed that feeling too, Shokrakar’s hands were rough and calloused, but they felt good, he would lose himself in the feeling of being touched by them.
Shokrakar stopped, pushing himself up into a sitting position. He looked back over his shoulder. “How long have you been there?” He asked Thom.
“Long enough,” Thom laughed. “Been enjoying the show.”
“Yeah? Feel free to join in.” Shokrakar slowly got back up onto his feet. “Got sit-ups planned now.”
“You carry on, I’ll supervise.” Thom laughed. “I got my exercise chopping wood for the fire, you know that.”
Shokrakar hummed and walked over to Thom, taking him by the hips and pinning him against the door frame. “Oh, I know,” He whispered in a deep voice. His hands moved from Thom’s hips to his arms and stroked them slowly. “My big, strong, husband.”
Thom laughed loudly and gave Shokrakar a playful push. “Ass.”
Shokrakar laughed with him and took a step back. “Sure you don’t want to join in?”
“I’m sure, I’ll keep count though.” Thom sat on the bench they kept in the garden, perfectly angled to watch his husband. “If you make it to one hundred, I’ll give you a massage.”
“You really know how to keep me motivated.” Shokrakar sat back down, positioning himself in front of Thom. He began to do his sit-ups, Thom counting along with him, he made sure he made it to one hundred, even if his body did feel like it was on fire, but Thom would help with that later.
