I feel like Dark wouldn’t live in the manor in this AU....still a nice big house, with a decent yard for the dogs, which is a feat in the city.....if either of them ask how the Hell he affords it on a homegrown florist budget, Dark admits he’s from money, he just didn’t want to take the family estate, too big for one person....

Dark can and Will start flirting with Illi in flower language XD He’ll do it with both of them, tbh, but it’s more fun when Illi gets it XD gives him flowers and plants that won’t hurt the animals, makes fancy catnip arrangements for fun dgnsngd

I also feel most of Dark’s tattoos would be flower based....like the one I have, and others that are just clusters of roses and daffodils, sunflowers, maybe even a whole sleeve of flower tattoos....

Dark’s always fascinated by Illi’s Nerd Ramblings dngxgnx he likes learning new things....info dumps about plants and botany himself, about his personal garden at home, about his record collection...does the same to Yancy as he gets tattoos, doesn’t ever seem remotely bothered by the pain, mentions his dance classes to him too XD

And because I Gotta throw in some mild angst, sometimes Dark’s shop is closed for a couple days for no apparent reason from an outside view, before Dark comes back as if nothing’s the matter....wanna make his chronic pain Permanent in the AU.....also have Desmond as a normal Shop Cat that lounges around and gets in the way XD not from Illi, but a stray Dark took in.....

Illinois will flirt back, he though he’s not invested romantically at first because he thinks it’s all in fun... buys certain flowers just to smirk and tell Dark to keep them. Sometimes orders some for Yancy to when he catches on that Dark is flirting with the tattooist, tells Dark to give Yancy a kiss for him ;)

Illinois still lives at his families mansion, very reluctant to go there everyday since I still feel it’d be the same. That is, on times when he’s not fostering, then he’s excited to go back.

Yancy lives in a small apartment, probably roommates with Heapass, and by roommates I mean he lets Heapass come and crash on his couch from time to time. Gots a pet chameleon there named Chancy, which he sometimes calls Butcher.

They both love Darks info dumping,, even if for Yancy it’s more of just for noise then anything else, he tries to pay attention he swears, but sometimes his mind wanders off. Also Illi probably slips a note on the door when Dark’s away, worried, while Yancy just huffs and complains to Illinois,,, no hint of red on his cheeks for once talking with him.

Also, Illinois comes to check on Desmond, and when talking with Dark will absolutely be holding him and playing with him as he does. -Illinois’ secretary

No one would ever choose him over Sam. That's just logic.

Dark still wears his white button-ups, but rolled up to his sleeves, but in this AU he dresses a lot less formally, with black jeans and cute aprons to keep his white shirts from getting stained....fingers are always stained green, always wears some sort of dangling earrings, and varying levels of makeup....always sells Yancy the most aromatic flowers he has that go with his aesthetic, at a discount Yancy doesn’t know about because Dark’s prices vary but complexity dgnsngd starts stalking up on vegetables and and small bushes/vines of fruits and some herbs specifically for Illinois, uses some excuses that the leaves/twigs of them look really nice in certain arrangements....

Dark’ll tell Illi all about Angel and Scooby gsngdkg show him new pictures whenever he asks, eventually adopts Baby and Whimbie too...tries to bribe Illi into getting a tattoo by inviting him over for dinner to see the pets bsngsg says he’ll go with him to get the tattoo, that he’s been meaning to get another one anyway, that Yancy’s really nice and talented...still calls them both ‘dear’ before even knowing their names, as Dark does XD

Gossips with Yancy about stuck up customers who Really Really care about all the various meanings of flowers, get really pissy if he doesn’t have something in stock or it’s out of season....also talks about Illinois, shows Yancy pictures of the dogs too XD just has fun with them both....

Illinois wears tan pants, and a green shirt for the shelter,,, when he’s not working, he’s in his typical outfit. Has his hair in a ponytail, uses ‘it’s more effective to keep out of my face in order to take care of the animals’ as an excuse why it’s long enough for a small ponytail,,, Yancy dresses in leather pants, or skinny jeans. Everyday he’s wearing black pants of some sort, even if sweatpants. Still has a white shirt on most the time, but sometimes he has musicals or bands tshirts.

Yancy definitely doesn’t know the discount, just budgets to get the plants. Maybe even invited Dark across to ask him how to care for them. Illinois is a himbo and takes the invitation, says he’s talked to the tattoo artist and that he is nice, tells him how he’s thinking of setting up an antique shop nearby for when he’s not at the animal shelter, and just generally rambles about things because he’s still a nerd and this is a new friend to have,,, learns flower language more in depth to try to impress his new friend,,, calls him and Yancy a slew of nicknames because not dating,,,

Perhaps invites him out to lunch, tells him he can invite Yancy too, the more the merrier! They can walk the mall! - Illinois’ secretary
