Naruto is hella looking up to Gai. He talks about Gai to Iruka all the time, and tries to get them to date. He's like "dump that looser kakashi who can't even write a report. Can this man even read? I've never seen him turn a page of his book."

He doesn't care about becoming Hokage because having the respect & support of his team is enough. Him and Sasuke argue a lot still, but they develop a deeper bond faster by communicating more often

Gai, Sakura & Naruto's priority is protecting Sasuke from Orochimaru & himself. It's working great and unbeknownst to everyone it's truly messing up Itachi's weird suicide plans
