So I caved,
and yesterday I bought a long cardigan. I had been dealing with some silly materialistic identity crises, because I gave away over half of my clothing, and didn’t really have anything besides basics. All throughout college, I was a pretty fashion-forward individual. I looked like art, and I loved it. And now... well yesterday I was comparing myself to a mushroom. Not a shiitake, but a white cap mushroom. I used to be a starfruit. I’ll let you interpret that. I just missed looking the way I felt, and I felt that a part of me was missing. So yes, I saw a sweater, and I bought it. But I stuck to my guns and bought it from a resale shop, an independent business owner. It was 57% off the original price (still under $15), and it was something versatile. I could just as easily wear it here as I could in California. It’s my style, and can work with everything I already own. So honestly, I don’t think it was a bad investment at all. And that’ll do me for shopping for another few months. On the contrary, I think it was a pretty good choice.
