Day in the life (disabled)
Hopefully final before Christmas grocery run accomplished!
That ended up being more than I could reasonably lug home on my own with two dodgy shoulders. Even though it doesn’t look like that much, there’s a bag of potatoes in there, along with a bunch of cheese and other dense stuff.
So, I ended up wheeling it home 😅
Just from up the street this time*, at least. Wrangling the cart was fun in it’s own way, and I need a little rest before trying to deal with the food. But, way better than trying to carry it without even wonky little shopping cart wheels.
Riding shotgun: the very cuddly Moosedeer I couldn’t resist bringing home for Mr. C 😊 Who has kept commenting on how many “reindeer” have moose antlers.
* Unlike just before Christmas one time at least 10 years ago, when it would have been at least a 45 minute wait for a cab home with way more than that. So we took turns wheeling it over a mile. At least that was from the nearest bigger supermarket, and before the big health crash. Also the main reason the trolley is parked on our walled patio for now, since that one got stolen from outside before anyone could take it back the next day 🙄
The Black Friday is around the corner!
Are you ready to drive into the sales or are you like me, staying calm and stress-free? I've never been one to wait for Black Friday I shop when I need something and let's be honest, sales happen all year long. Plus, these "week-long sales" make the actual Friday feel less special, don't you think?
I do prefer shopping in malls for clothes I like to try things on but for electronics or small items online shopping is perfect.
Meanwhile, while everyone's battling for deals, I'll be here with a coffee, some quiet time and zero stress. Who's with me?
Why did the turkey avoid Black Friday? He didn't want to be roasted in the crowds! 🦃

You Want Me To Do What???
Most people know about self-check out lanes. You scan your item, it beeps, and some of them, if not all of them tell you to either "place item in bag", or "leave in cart".
Ok, so we can kind of guess, by the size of the item, where it's going to go. Most small, light things will go in the bag, while bulky, heavy items are left in the cart.
Of course there are exceptions, like certain bakery items, like fresh bread, and some items, that while bulky and obviously won't fit in a bag, are still "place in bag" items.
Anyway, here's where I'm going with this. My window ac unit took a dump in the middle of Super Summer (Texas has 4 seasons: Fall, Winter, Summer, and Super Summer), so I went to get a replacement.
I placed the 8,000btu window unit awkwardly in my cart and headed for the self-checkout. There was no way I was going to slide the box across the scanner, so I opted for the convenient scanner gun.
I scan the barcode, the machine beeps, and then, guys, GUYS, it tells me "please place item in bag"!
I was like, you want me to put this where??? I know you know what this is, because you just told me what this is, and yet you want me to Place? Giant? Heavy? Item? In? Tiny? Plastic? Bag?
Yeah, I don't think it's going to fit, my dude. 🤣
When they say 50% off everything, it’s rude not to, right?...

Quistis stopped beside her at her exclamation, she blinked at the dress in question. If she tried that one, she would be covered in glitter for days. “You don’t want to try it on for yourself?”
She wasn’t against the idea of trying it on, it was rather pretty... but, it would look just as good on Selphie, she was sure. And as Selphie had suggested, Quistis was just as capable of finding something else to try on with her.
