#3804 - Fam. Neanuridae, Subfamily Pseudachorutinae - Short-legged Springtails
A wonderful little earthling nomming on some tiny fungi in the hills east of Waroona, back in 2021.
There are more than 50 genera and 200 described species in the subfamily, which includes the 'giant' springtails of the genus Acanthanura, found in eastern Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand, which are brightly coloured, up to 1cm long, have long spines, and eat slime mold.
