It had been maybe an hour since Dean had abandoned left her here. Bridget knew he believed it was the right choice to make, and Jody seemed just as kind as he’d made her out to be on the drive over. Yet she couldn’t help the worry that washed over her, threatening to drown her. She may be safe here, but what if her presence put Jody and her girls at risk? The hallucinations had shown no signs of stopping, after all. A hand on her shoulder caused the young woman to jump, reaching for her knife only to come up with her cell phone. Perhaps it had been a good thing Dean had confiscated her weapons, packing them away into her duffle bag. “Sorry.”
