I’ve wanted to do this portrait for while and though I’m not sure if doing it right after recovering from burn out was the right thing to do…I am happy with how it turned out (even if I did get tired half way though the rendering process.)
So, according to my backstory for Palomides, he and his family left Babylon when he was quite young. At the point where we meet him in the story he’s lived more of his life in England than he has in his home country. So their clothes don’t look all that different from the other characters’ in terms of design, though the idea is that the patterns and colors of the fabric is inspired by their homeland’s style. I tried to draw on Babylonian art to show that it’s still a large part of their identity.
