Social Customer Care

Shoutlet had a great webinar today on real time tweeting and they used the customer service I deliver (as part of a team) at Clearwire to highlight the impact a great experience seeking help on social media can have. It was a really great presentation but I think they missed some key points in discussing real time social media.

At Clear we've set the goal of responding to requests for assistance within 30 minutes on Facebook and Twitter but we've also set aggressive turn times for YouTube and our Blog. The immediacy of social media prevails across every channel, not just Twitter. When we respond to a YouTube comment inside of an hour the reaction we get is one of shock. People aren't used to that channel be monitored as closely as the others. If you want to deliver a world class experience you can't simply do what every one else is doing, they're already doing that! To have your customers walking away saying to themselves, "Wow that was amazing!" you need to deliver something no one else is. We do our best to offer as many channels as possible for our customers to request assistance but we have to be listening intently for it to make any difference.
