I showered outside on the back deck.
It was lunch-time, and the leaves needed raking. I went outside, but the misty rain from the morning never stopped. So the dim candle that pretends to be my brain sputtered a few times to get my attention. I ran inside and slipped into some old trunks, then ran back out.
This will probably be the last chance this year I’ll get to shower outside, but I wasn’t about to let it slip by. I grabbed the hose and lathered up, rinsed, and sat back down on a wood bench I made a couple years ago, just reveling in the rain and how it didn’t just clean my body, it cleansed my soul.
Today was special.
