SHOW NOTES: THE SHREDCAST EPISODE 13
No bad luck here, ladies and gents. ShredCast 13 was easily the most free-flowing and organic episode yet. And yes, does sound a little bit like hokey mumbo jumbo but when you listen, I'm sure you'll agree.
If you've checked out FRET12's Weekly Riff videos (and if you haven't, you should!), you've probably seen Mr. Tim Tournier shredding away on some licks and riffs. Well, Tim made his official ShredCast debut on Episode 13 and he did so with flying colors. He has a ton of great insight into the music industry and creative process. Plus, he (along with the whole SC crew) thinks John Mayer would be badass in corpse paint. Make it happen, John.
This + this = this.
We (unintentionally) switched up the format this week, going for a super loose and news-packed show. Topics included...
The Yellow and Black Attack known as Stryper
The origin of the KISS makeup
The ever expanding lineup of Download 2012
The “new” Van Halen album
How awesome P!nk is
Seriously. P!nk is awesome. And she daring enough to put a punctuation mark in her name! That Ke$ha girl is just a poser.
All of those topics were just warm ups for the tangental conversation that exploded from our mouths. (That was a pretty hardcore sentence!) Discussion on the creative evolution of artists, the giant (figuratively and literally) behind Backstreet Boys and the rest of the boy-band revolution, politically-charged artists and the legitimacy behind them, Tim's tryout for Limp Bizkit (great story) and more. It was a great conversation and a great listen. Be sure to check it out!
While you're anxiously awaiting the download bar to fill, take a look at a couple of the bands and songs we mentioned on the show!
Of course, check us out on Facebook, Twitter, FRET12.com, and download SC13 here!
Until next time...

SHOW NOTES: THE SHREDCAST EPISODE 8
I hope you've all waved "bye bye" to 2011 because that oddball year has left.
Forever.
Seriously. It's never coming back.
But! Considering it gave us so much awesomeness, I think we can all bid a fond farewell to 2011 and let it rest in peace.
Episode 8 was dedicated to all that was good in 2011 and boy, we covered a ton of material. So much so that packing it all into a single show note would make for a ridiculously long post of videos and pictures and mostly likely crash my already-taxed-by-old-age computer and possibly bring another Y2K scare. A Y2K scare that would affect only one person. But still-- a Y2K scare.
So, instead of posting the entirety of those shenanigans, I'd just like to take this space to once again thank all of you who have listened and subscribed during the first episodes of our little show. I know I speak for the entire crew when I say that we appreciate it a ton. A ton, I tellsya. The ShredCast continues to grow with every episode and although we'd love to believe that our golden pipes are what is making it happen, we know that if not for all of the great fans out there, we'd pretty much just be talking to ourselves.
Of course, just because we're growing doesn't mean we're ready to sit back and watch it slowly happen. Oh no, friends. I think you'll be more than pleased at some of the surprises we've got in store for you in the near future. Surprises that will hopefully help you enjoy The ShredCast even more and hopefully, along with your help, create an army of ShredCast listeners.
So again, thanks... uh... again. We heart you all. Remember to spread the good word of The ShredCast and subscribe on iTunes. And hey, if you happen to see a ShredCast tweet or Facebook post, be a cool person and RT and share that shizzle. It'll make your heart grow three sizes. I promise.
Now that we have all of that warm and fuzziness out of the way, here are few ShredCast picks for the best of 2011.
