I vaguely remember that Soy Sauce is a pun of Shorter + YuaSi (Yut Lung’s other name) but I don’t know about Shorter/Ash/Eiji. I just know it’s their ship name so I go with it.

I assume it’s also a pun or something to do with their characters.
