What We Do In The Shadows || Shiori || Chapter 2 || Closed for Carmilla

For the first few days following the trial, the idea that life would simply snap back to the way it was before Koji’s death seemed to Shiori a flight of fancy. Life would never be the same. Somehow, however, the elastic society of Berobero Kingdom proved strong enough to withstand the emotional stress of the trial, and he found himself going about his old routine. He wasn’t happy about it, and it certainly wasn’t his normal routine - that had vanished since he’d first woken up here - but it was all he had.
Still, he found himself thinking about the trial more than he would’ve liked to. It would’ve been nice to speak to someone about it. There was someone in particular he had in mind, though.
Shiori vaguely remembered Carmilla from their conversation at school, but he couldn’t have told you much about her. She’d left an impression, but he didn’t know her at all. After that, their only interactions had been during the crisis following Hibiki’s attack, and the trial, where she’d definitely stood out from the others.
She was supposed to be some kind of vampire, wasn’t she? So, if it was daytime, Shiori assumed she’d be more likely to be inside. Perhaps she’d had a parasol and stepped outside, but he wouldn’t know where to begin the search if that was the case. He might as well begin by checking her dorm room.
He found it easily enough (it had her name on it after all) and knocked. And then... waiting. Shiori crossed his arms and looked down the hallway. Now that he was here, he wasn’t exactly sure what he wanted to talk about... he’d start by thanking her for her help in the trial, at least. And then see where things go from there. Hopefully, she wouldn’t mind the disturbance.
