Coffee shops are so nice. There’s always something comforting about them - no matter where you are, you can always count on the smell of coffee to take you back to some other time.
And so, to that effect, it’s not really Ryoji’s fault when he gets so caught up in his thoughts that he doesn’t even realize it, until he’s staring at the poor barista behind the counter. It’s totally vacant - until he snaps back to reality, giving the other a sort of bashful smile and averting his eyes.
Whoopsies.
He usually isn’t quite so drifting with his thoughts that he spaces out like that. Must be something about the atmosphere. Still, it’s impolite to stare like that, and he really should say something.
“Ah, sorry. I suppose I was just reminiscing for a moment about something.” he pauses. “Although your glasses are quite fashionable, so I was probably looking at those too.”
There’s something about the boy’s aura, too, he thinks, but doesn’t mention it. There’s really only so much weird one person can get away with in a sitting.
