oooh man i just read this thing and the whole idea of "rep sweats" like really succinctly summed up a lot of my apprehension and i was like "this was timely"
and yeah, i understand this story isn't everyone's story (even within the wide-ranging umbrella of "asian american") and i'll get if some people don't feel it but i'm gonna root for this one personally

and absolutely i am here to support critical engagement with this show because i think that is important and i in no way think getting this show to happen is some sort of "end game" for asian americans in representation or anything else
but like this is the first time ever i've seen my own experiences as an asian american growing up in america so clearly highlighted on television and it gets me so excited and so happy and like i just want a minute to be able to smile and enjoy it because, god, there is so much bad shit that happens w/r/t asian representation and like i just want a minute to be like this is mine
