I fake a smile but I still can't see the light

Simultaneously my contribution to the Virtualization! Code: Lyoko Zine and homage to the striking animated music video for Alone in the Darkness by Siames. The zine was released earlier this year and you can download it for free here!

While his friends fight literal monsters, Jeremie's battles are mostly internal and he grapples heavily with the burden of expectation. When he's not leading the charge against XANA, his worst enemy is himself.

I've mentioned it before, but CL was my first real fandom and I drew a tonnn of stuff for it when I was a kid, the vast majority of which has been lost. I'm not really involved in it anymore, but evidently it is something I will still occasionally draw for.

What a year ~ ✨✨

Such a great one! While the world itself was kinda falling apart, my pop-culture life was winning a little! To recap just from this pic:

Got several new albums this year, most pressingly Even in Arcadia by Sleep Token

Many cool podcasts found their way to me this year, my fave one statistically was Woodbine

Good year for movies too, as KPDH popped off obviously, and then we got BAD GUYS 2!!!! Probably my favorite movie of the year, maybe ever

Scarlet Morning by N.D. Stevenson came out and it shattered my worldview upon finishing it, it was very cool

And then to top it all off, Red of Red ‘n Flynn gave us a non-canon Shiloh episode, which just made the whole year worth it.

My art, while I didn’t draw as much as other years, improved a lot I think. I can make such detailed illustrations now that look like screenshots all by myself :3 . I have come to terms with the fact that I kinda hate doing lineart, but we shall learn to deal with it 🫠. Once it comes out good, that’s all that matters. Thanks for coming along for this year, and let’s go conquer 2026!!

the aesthetic of this music video always reminds me so strongly of Megumi, so I wanted to draw something inspired by that style!

included a bonus with just Megumi bc im esp happy with how he came out, maybe I should dabble in this style more?
