Chat wanna see a snippet of "Legend and Fable get shipwrecked/time displaced in outset" Fic I never published/finished in 2021? Well here it is!
Link wakes up with a headache, he sits up and massages his head, hoping that the throbbing will lessen if he does. His ears twitched at the cry of a seagull outside over the crashing sound of waves hitting the shoreline "this can't be real" he mutters quietly to himself, then bitterly laughs at the irony of his words.
"oh you're awake!" a voice said. 'not Marin' he thinks in both dissapointment and relief, he looks over to see a girl around the age of ten with blonde hair tied up in low pigtails, she climbs up the loft he woke up in.
"Are you okay mister? You look like you've seen a ghost" she says, her obsidian eyes stared with concern. He blinks, unsure with what response to go with, 'are you real?' or 'this is a dream, isn't it' in the end, he settled for a normal "I'm fine"
She nods "are you hungry mister? You just woke up in time for lunch! Grandma's making soup. Oh and, I'm Aryll by the way" she takes his hand and pulls him out of the bed, Link reluctantly follows. Once out of bed, he notices that he's wearing a blue lobster shirt, the sleeves were too short on him, only going past his elbows by just a bit and pants with the most obnoxious orange he's ever seen that ends right below his knees
The smell of the soup got stronger as they neared the kitchen, his stomach growled at the scent "Link!" a familiar voice said, he looks at the direction where it came from and saw Zelda, she was wearing the first layer of the legendary dress, modified to end right above her ankles and her hair was tied up in a high ponytail. She sets the bowls down she was holding to a table and tackles him in a hug "I'm glad you're okay" she said
"you too, zel" He returns the hug with a pang of guilt, he forgot about her while he was having his existential crisis. Dream or not, at least she was here too
"the soup is finished" an elderly woman said, link breaks away from the hug "let me help" he takes the pot away and set it on the table with the bowls Zelda carried "thank you dear" she said patting him on the arm
They sat around the table and started to eat, link's eyes lit up after the first spoonful "this tastes amazing, miss– um" he realized he never asked for their names and he still hasn't introduced himself
She waved her hand in dismissal "please, call me grandma"
"sure... grandma, and you probably know from my sister here, but I'm link, nice to meet you"
"likewise, and don't be afraid to ask for more soup, you're so thin! Thin enough to fit in my grandson's clothes"
Link nods 'so that's who these pajamas belong too' he thinks,
How'd they get there? There's a Royal event in some country/kingdom across the ocean they need to go and the only way to get there is by boat. Legend refused to go but Fable said something about the other Royal Family will feel insulted and delegate work is part of his duties as a hero, so he goes.
A Lightning storm happens during the voyage and Legend used a galeseed on him and Fable so they can get somewhere safe. They end up in the shores of outset and Aryll finds them.
Fable takes this as an oppurtunity for a vacation, Legend is reluctant but gives in after a while
