Started this forever ago, based on the colour scheme from this aesthetic board by @proshipaes (hope you don’t mind the @). It’s not done done like I was planning, but it looks fine lol and tbh, it never would’ve gotten posted if I waited until it was done.

Hero hates getting mildly sick because Kel will use it as an excuse to create the most noxious foodcrimes known to humankind, under the guise of “just trying to help him get better.” Kel brings him chicken noodle soup with a broth made of homemade Orange Joe (because the brand Orange Joe has by now gone well and truly under, and no more of it exists in the world) and Hero’s just crying like please for the love of god can you just make some normal soup.

When it’s serious, though, or when Kel’s done having his fun, then he’ll take things more seriously. Hero’s pretty much forced him to learn how to cook a little bit, so he can and does make homemade chicken noodle soup for Hero, even though canned is so much easier, because he knows how much Hero hates canned food. (His soup honestly isn’t much better taste-wise, but Hero appreciates that he’s trying, and isn’t about to complain.) He’ll get him things he needs (while ribbing him about it, ofc) and do his best to make sure Hero’s not bored while he’s resting.

Kel being Kel, though, he’s still not the most sanitary guy. He’s far more likely to get sick caring for a sick Hero than vice versa. And when that happens, Hero will return both Kel’s care and his teasing.

Okay now I’m thinking about how I imagine Herokel lol like, a series of events/emotional developments that I think would be neat for a timeline of their relationship

Hero is of course very affectionate when they’re younger, he really loves Kel a lot but doesn’t realize his feelings for Kel aren’t normal older brother feelings/doesn’t notice when they transition from normal brother feelings into incestuous ones. He teases Kel with kisses a lot because he figures it’s just fairly normal to like annoying your brother that way, and there is definitely no other reason he wants to kiss Kel so bad, no siree lol and he’s dating Mari because he does really like her a lot too, his feelings for her are also genuine.

Then, after Mari dies, during his depression, Hero finally realizes the nature of his feelings for Kel, and it only feeds his self-loathing and misery. He thinks that on top of being a disappointment and a horrible friend and boyfriend, he must also be a threat to Kel, an absolutely filthy, worthless person. I think he pushes Kel away a lot during and for some time after this period, to punish himself and to keep Kel safely away from him. This does not help their strained relationship.

I tend to have a harder time imagining Kel’s side of things, I find Hero and the incest guilt I like to inflict on him way more interesting tbh. Idk whether I prefer Kel reciprocating/developing his own feelings later on, once their relationship starts to be mended, or if I prefer him also harbouring long-standing incestuous feelings and being more wounded than he feels he should be by Hero’s constant rejection and distancing.

As I mentioned in my reblog of @herossandwich’s post, I tend to imagine Hero trying to be the responsible sibling, so even on the off chance they both figure out all their feelings before Kel graduates high school, I tend to imagine Hero being very hands-off with Kel. Any indulgences he snatches for himself, like teasing joke kisses, are done with a guilty conscience, and anything genuinely serious is probably initiated by Kel, and probably only once they’re both adults. (Hero knows this doesn’t make it any more legal, but it makes him feel a little less bad, so he doesn’t really care.)

I. Don’t know how to end this lol I’m tired and I just think they should kiss and Hero should be wracked with guilt about it and I should’ve probably gone to bed half an hour ago lmao goodnight to the two other Herokel enjoyers on this webbed site, have a good one hfksjdfhs

Just found out that a common use for the Folgers incest commercial is using it as a base for AUs and I am so so so tempted to do that for Herokel, it would be perfect lol

Hero coming home from college to find Kel welcoming him in and pouring him a cup of shitty coffee while they make goo-goo eyes at each other, Kel’s fingers brushing Hero’s as he hands Hero the mug, Hero giving Kel a present and Kel patting the bow onto Hero’s chest with a cheeky smile, and they’re so about to kiss when wham, in walk their parents and the mood is totally killed

Had this idea rattling around in my brain for a while and wanted to make a comic of it but never did lol

Anyways Hero and Kel are kissing when Hero feels something in Kel’s mouth and he pulls back like what was that? And Kel grins cheekily with his mouth closed and Hero’s more serious like Kel what is in your mouth

And Kel opens his mouth and sticks out his tongue like aaaaaa and there’s just a little plastic spider sitting on his tongue
