“if you're abled, we ask that you only interact with this art if you are willing to tell us who you are and give us reparations for the suffering that goes into it and without which it wouldnt exist to affect you (if you are not sending us money, ask us how else you can make it be easier/more likely for us to survive.) it is not our intent to inform or entertain the people complicit in our oppression if we are not being compensated for that pain and labor.
“this is not for you. if you're not chronically ill or otherwise close to death in disgusting ways, here's how you should participate while interacting with this stuff: keep watching each project until any shame, disgust, avoidance, you have toward watching our divergent body-art dissipates.
“this is an exercise in challenging yourself to not turn away from those who you believe to be gross, scary and in pain in ways that you can neither alleviate nor relate to. so that you be better, and your empathy be less impaired. pain is knowledge, and sick bodies are the wisest in the world. death is a powerful magic, and sick people are closest to it. your abled (although we are addressing variously disabled but unsick people too) fear of bodies, of dying, and of pain predictably leads to your participation (sometimes via neglect) in the quarantining of divergent bodies into hospitals, hospices, jails, and abusive homes. your stunted empathy enables you to indulge in this abuse. our intent is, if we can hope to effect you at all, to augment your empathy by forcing you to face our grotesque flesh.”
