She’s warm to the touch, warmer than normal. Omega doesn’t run as hot as the rest of them because her body wasn’t modified. To feel this warmth from her is abnormal.

Omega was freezing. Even resting against Gonky, who was letting out extra heat for her, and wrapped in a blanket, she couldn’t get warm. She didn’t know how long she’d been trying to. She was aching from the fierce shivers at this point, and could hardly think. Everyone else was sleeping, but she couldn’t despite how her eyes ached, her eyelids wanting to drag down, her mind lapsing into moments of utter confusion and unreality. She was too cold.
The shivers had started after visiting Axxila. The planet had been a comfortable temperature, but she had breathed in a lot of dust. Now, through the moments of clarity, she was beginning to wonder what was in that dust (especially as she started coughing).
This wasn’t good. She had to do something.
It took all her will (maybe more than she currently had) to rise from Gonky’s spare bit of heat, to stand on shaking legs. The galaxy felt like it was dropping away from her.
Still, Omega managed to stumble over to Hunter’s rack where he was sleeping above Tech.
Omega put a hand on his shoulder, shaking him gently.
And with that soldier’s training, he was immediately awake, and alert, assessing the situation.
His eyes quickly roved over her and the ship around him as he came to full wakefulness in a manner of seconds.
“What is it?” he murmured. “Are you okay? You look pale.”
“I’m cold,” she tried to admit, but speaking made a sudden pocket of mucus in her lungs start to move upwards.
Omega backed away, hunching over as she coughed into her arm. Her inhale wheeze was rough and crackly, the exhale like a squeaky whistle.
Tech woke up, and so did Echo.
Oh no.
“What’s wrong?” Echo asked. “Omega?”
She couldn’t turn to him, just coughed.
The mucus eventually made it up and it tasted bitter and slimy in her mouth. Hunter seemed to immediately understand the problem. He handed over his sheet.
“I can wash it later.”
Omega took it from him, and spit the mucus out.
Oh no. It was gray.
Hunter rolled out of his rack, and inspected the mucus color. He seemed to nod to himself, then bundled up his sheet and left it in his rack. He put an arm around her shivering shoulders.
“It’s okay. I’ve got her,” Hunter said.
“Are you sure?” Tech asked.
“Why is everybody awake?” Wrecker groaned.
“Go back to sleep,” Hunter ordered them.
Hunter grabbed more blankets for Omega, and told her she needed to sit up since she was coughing the way she was. Once she was all bundled up he took her to the cockpit so they wouldn’t disturb anyone. She saw him grab the medical scanner on the way.
He rubbed her shoulders a bit after she sat down in the pilot’s seat, and then took the seat next to her. Omega wished the seats were closer together; she wanted to tuck into Hunter’s side and sleep.
Another cough wracked her. The middle of her chest hurt, like there was a heavy weight on it.
Her head was pounding.
The coughing continued, and continued, and—
She started to lose feeling in her body. Not numbness. It was as if the connection had been cut off.
Omega didn’t know what was going on. She felt like the Marauder was crooked, and Hunter was holding her now for some reason.
“Hey, stay with me, okay?”
Omega blinked open her eyes.
“Hunter?” she croaked.
He straightened her body, but stayed right by her rather than sitting back down.
“What… happened?” she asked.
When had she stopped coughing?
“You passed out.”
Omega felt fear alight through her, but at the same time it was overshadowed by how awful she felt.
She sniffled, wiping her nose.
Hunter scanned her, and then his breath held. His face went slack, like he was scared but trying to hide it from her.
Immediately he took the seat beside her once more He started flicking dials and switches on the console, and pressing buttons.
“What are you doing?” Omega asked.
“Changing our course,” Hunter said. “You need medical attention. I know of an Outer Rim hospital that won’t ask questions.”
“The Empire’s not there?” she asked, feeling breathless, the words hard to get out.
“Not yet, according to recent intel.”
Once he finished with that he leaned over, cupping a hand to her cheek. His touch felt slick for some reason.
Was she sweating?
He pushed some of her hair out of her face. “You’re burning up,” he said, worry lacing his voice.
“What’s wrong with me?” Omega asked, leaning into his touch, needing it like she needed warmth.
“It’s possible you breathed in a dangerous mineral on Axxila. I’m not totally sure, but the quick onset, the fever, and the coughs suggest it. Omega, I’m so sorry. We thought the minerals where we landed were safe.”
Omega couldn’t be angry. She knew it wasn’t his fault, especially since he seemed to care for her as fiercely as she cared for him.
“Will I pass out again?” she asked.
“I hope not. Stay here. I’m going to get you something that might help.”
Omega nodded, then regretted it; pain had pounded in between her eyes at the motion.
She tried to see what Hunter was doing, but he was moving fast. When he came back he held a steaming mug out to her.
“What is it?” she asked, before inhaling, letting the steam waft onto her face. A sweet smell met her. The mug was pleasantly warm against her fingers, and she wanted all of its warmth.
“Hot chocolate,” Hunter said.
She let out a sound of contentment, and then had a sip.
“Sorry it’s a bit bitter,” he said. “Best I could do with rations.”
This drink was new to her, so she had no idea what he was talking about.
“It’s perfect. Tastes like… what I think dessert probably tastes like.”
“Well, I’m gonna get you dessert once you feel better, all right?”
“Deal.”
The hot chocolate warmed her, but she wondered what else it was doing.
“Is this medicine?”
“No, but it can do some good things for you. The warmth helps relax your lungs, opens them up a bit, and two properties in it open up the tubes in your lungs.”
“Bronchial tubes,” Omega supplied, remembering learning anatomy with Nala Se.
Hunter grinned at her.
Her shivering hadn’t subsided, so Hunter grabbed her two more blankets.
Omega couldn’t help giggling a bit at it, feeling like she could hardly move from all the blankets.
“Are you trying to bury me?” she asked.
“Trying to get you to sweat out the fever.”
Tech grumbled loud enough for them to hear, “That won’t work with the condition she might have.”
“Well, by all means, Walking Datapad, why don’t you come over and help?”
Tech groaned. “If you insist. Though I would like to be a sleeping datapad.”
Omega giggled, but went into a coughing fit again. Hunter took her hot chocolate so she wouldn’t spill any.
“Whus goin’ on?” Wrecker asked.
“Omega’s sick,” Echo responded.
“Fine, come help if you all can’t sleep.”
Echo got out of his rack, and patted Wrecker. “You too, big guy.”
“Five more minutes. I was dreamin’ that Lula and I—”
“Omega’s coughing. She needs help,” Echo said.
“Okay, I’m awake!”
Omega felt like she lost connection with her body again, her brain warm and tingly. The galaxy around her didn’t seem to matter much, or even make much sense. Her head was so hot.
She came to with Wrecker holding her, and Echo held a cold compress to her forehead.
Reality seemed to come rushing back with clarity, and she straightened.
“Why do I keep passing out?” she asked, voice weak.
Hunter handed Tech the results from the medical scanner as she shivered in Wrecker’s arms.
“Ah, I see,” Tech said.
“What?” she grumbled, reaching out for her hot chocolate.
“It seems there is some stress on your heart.”
Omega looked down at her chest, as if she could see the offending organ.
“How does your chest feel?” Tech asked.
“It hurts.”
“On the left?”
She nodded, more aware of it now. “And the middle,” she complained.
Tech leaned over. “Hunter, how much caffeine did you put in that hot chocolate?”
He shrugged. “I didn’t change anything with it.”
“Hmm.” Tech placed the medical scanner down. “I’ll be back.”
Omega coughed again, and sat up, falling forward. It felt like her stomach was trying to make its way out of her mouth.
Fear gripped her, but after a dry heave her body began to relax. She laid down against Wrecker, who held her tight.
“You’re gonna be okay,” he said.
“How does the cold feel?” Echo asked.
“Weird. I’m freezing, but…”
“It makes you feel more awake?”
“Yeah.”
Tech came back with a metal canteen, and handed it to her. “Drink this.”
“What is it?”
“Hot water with added electrolytes, a shot of caffeine, and some medicine to bring down the fever.”
Omega sipped, and made a face at the bitter taste.
“So spiked espresso,” Echo surmised.
“Excuse me, I did not spike Omega’s espresso.”
“So you admit it’s espresso,” Echo said.
“And it’s spiked,” Hunter added.
Omega gave him a glare as he took a small sip of her hot chocolate. She wanted that drink instead.
But then he discreetly showed her he’d been pretending, and gave her a wink.
Omega smiled.
The others continued to joke and argue about what she was drinking now. Tech tried to hand her another canteen, but Echo took it. He’d placed the cold compress on one of the seats, Omega not needing it for now.
“At this rate this must be alcohol,” Omega said about the second canteen.
Everyone gave Tech a disapproving glance.
“As if,” he sighed. “It’s water.”
“Just water?” Wrecker asked. Omega could hear the smile on his face.
Tech sat down, looking at one of his datapads.
“With extra vitamins and minerals added.”
Omega started a little bit at the word minerals despite knowing there were plenty of different ones, and that many were completely safe.
The silence said others thought of that too.
“Safe minerals,” he added. “Besides, it’s not like I’m asking you to breathe it in. But do make sure you don’t. Choking would be terrible in your condition.”
Eventually Omega had finished her various drinks, telling them they actually just wanted her to explode, and she really rested back against Wrecker now, feeling sleepy despite a slight buzz going through her.
She’d been up for… almost a whole standard rotation, she deemed. So her exhaustion outweighed the caffeine.
Her family was right though. She was breathing better, and hadn’t passed out in quite awhile.
“Tell me a story,” she asked.
“What kind are you looking for?” Hunter asked, clasping his hands together, leaning forward.
She shrugged. “Anything.”
Hunter started into a story of one of their first missions, even telling the parts with Crosshair—Omega would have insisted to hear about him, anyway.
She started falling asleep, stories melding together, mind imagining her family flying through rainbow skies, as they held her and cared for her.
Omega couldn’t breathe
She sat up, coughing, and coughing, chest aching.
Oh no, she was going to throw up.
Her head began to feel fuzzy and hot.
She managed to stop coughing before anything worse happened, and she realized Hunter held her now. She couldn’t see the others, but a bright pink sky met her when she looked out the viewport, and the ramp to the ship was down.
Tilting her head, she saw the others speaking with someone urgently.
“Wha…?” she began to ask, but didn’t have the energy to finish.
Hunter was scanning her again, rubbing her, trying to warm her with friction.
The person they’d been talking to seemed to notice, and said something Omega couldn’t hear.
“It’s okay,” Hunter told her, murmuring softly. The rumble of his voice made her feel safe even while her body disagreed. “I’ve been to this hospital before,” he said. “They’re gonna take good care of you. As soon as we get you inside, you’ll see.”
She moaned, and turned onto her side, rubbing her head against his arm. He then wrapped that arm around her chest, holding her to him.
She wanted to sleep.
She shivered so hard her teeth hurt.
After that Omega vaguely recalled Hunter carrying her and all her blankets out of the ship, and placing her onto a stretcher. She was taken inside, an oxygen mask on her face even before being transferred to a bed. The hospital wasn’t bright, and white like she had expected, but was decorated with warmer colors. It was more relaxing, made the tourniquet around her arm and the needle they were sticking into her feel less invasive.
The bed she was placed in was incredibly comfortable; a soft mattress that nearly conformed to her body, a plush pillow, soft sheets, warm, fluffy blankets.
Omega didn’t remember falling asleep, but she opened her eyes. An orange twi’lek with jagged white designs on his lekku—one of the doctors it seemed—was talking to Hunter, mentioning different types of medicine perhaps, while he injected them into her IV. One seemed to open her lungs up.
Omega started coughing, and now the doctor was talking to her gently, “We do need you to cough up what mucus you can. We have a team who will come by every few hours to give you breathing treatments, and collect the mucus. We did what we could for breathing treatments while you were asleep. Through the oxygen mask,” he added.
She nodded when she finished coughing.
Hunter held her fingers, touch gentle. His thumb stroked over her knuckles.
Once the doctor left, Omega rolled over to face Hunter. She realized that now her bed was elevated, but at a comfortable height.
“Am I going to be okay?” she asked him.
He leaned in, brushing a hand against her hot forehead and through her sweaty hair.
“Yes,” he told her adamantly. “Yes, you will be. The doctor said you’ll have to stay for a few days, but when your mucus color changes and your fever breaks, you’ll be okay to leave.”
Omega, nestled in the quite comfortable bed, didn’t mind the sound of that.
“Thank you,” she murmured, feeling the pull of sleep once more.
“For what?”
“Taking care of me.”
As she drifted off, she vaguely felt Hunter pressing a kiss to her forehead. He murmured, “I’ll always take care of you. Till I can’t anymore. I promise.”And I’ll always take care of you.
Hello there I don't know if you still want to do fives x hunter. But if you do my request is that omega gets the flu, cold, any illness a child Omega can get You're choice. Because of that a very worried pregnant hunter trying to take care of her. But fives dose something that shak it taught him as a cadet to make omega fell better and calm hunter. Papa’s love
“Omega? Honey, time to get up. The others are ready for the mission.” Hunter calls through the curtains, humming softly.
“I’m too tired.” Omega croaks, and winces. Her voice sounds awful.
Fives frowns. “That… didn’t sound good.” He says.
Hunter rubs his bump. “You guys all go, I’ll take care of her. She’s never been off of Kamino, she must have caught something.”
Fives nods and heads out, leaving Hunter and Omega alone.
Hunter sighs and slowly climbs up the ladder, having a bit of trouble but he’s fine. “Omega?” He gets in, and frowns when he sees her hair damp with sweat, sticking to her head. And the tears rolling down her cheeks. “Omega…”
“Please don’t send me away.” Omega whines, shivering.
Hunter immediately crawls over and pulls her into his lap, being so careful of his bump. “Shhhh, I’m here baby girl. You aren’t blunt anywhere.” He says softly, kissing her head. He frowns at the heat rolling off of her. “Oh baby, you’re sick.” He says softly.
“Sorry.” Omega hiccups, curling tightly to Hunter.
“Oh honey no, I’m not mad sweety. Never mad.” Hunter promises, carrying her out. “Let’s get you some medicine, and curl up in bed. In my bed.” He whispers, and goes to the medicine cupboard. He looks through it, sighing softly. “No kids medicine, I’ll have to message everyone to get some. For now let’s lay in my-“ he startles as Omega throws up all over his chest.
Omega sobs. “Sorry. I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry!” She cries, sobbing loudly.
“Oh shhhh, it’s okay. Honey it’s okay.” Hunter frowns. “Let’s get you all cleaned up and into bed. It’s not your fault.” He kisses her head softly and gently heads to the bathroom to get her cleaned up.
Once Omega is in clean clothes Hunter tucks them both into bed, and cuddles her close.
“My tummy hurts.” Omega whines and snuggles close, sniffling softly.
“I know, honey. Papa will be back soon with some medicine and other things.” Hunter promises, kissing her head. “He also says he knows how to make your tummy feel better.” He says softly, kissing her head. “It’ll be okay.” He promises, rubbing her back.
Omega whines softly, and snuggles close. She feels so awful, and she wants her papa.
“He’ll be here soon, I promise.” Hunter whispers, and he hopes it’s true.

“I’m home!” Fives comes home not long later, heading to his and Hunters room. He frowns when he sees Omega, curled up to Hunter and crying softly. There’s a bucket beside the bed, and Fives can guess by the smell in the room what it’s for. “Oh baby.” He coos and comes over.
“Fives.” Hunter sighs, smiling tiredly.
“I brought some medicine, juice and doctor papa’s special way to make your tummy feel better.” Fives grins, measuring out the medicine already.
Omega sniffles. “Thanks papa.”
“Of course, now just sip up the medicine, it’s bubblegum.” Fives grins.
Omega takes the spoonful and swallows it, wincing at the fake bubblegum taste. She then sips the juice box her papa hands her.
Hunter smiles as he watches Fives pull his armor off. “You need to teach me your tricks.” He sighs, and snuggles Omega.
“I will.” Fives crawls into the bed. “Ready baby girl?”
Omega gives a small nod.
Fives hums and gently lifts her shirt up to show her tummy. “Papas gonna rub your tummy, then sing a special song. And it’ll make you feel better.” He croons.
“Thanks Papa.” Omega hums, already feeling better having both her parents.
Fives starts rubbing her belly, and sings a little song. “Soft kitty, warm kitty. Little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty. Purr. Purr. Purr.” He sings, smiling when he watches his little girls eyes drift shut. He gently repeats the song until he knows she’s asleep, that’s when he snuggles her between him and Hunter.
“Where did you learn that song?” Hunter asks softly, smiling. “You are such a good papa, I’ll use that trick too now.”
Fives smiles, settling his hand on Hunters bump, feeling their baby’s gentle movements. “When I was a teenager, late teens, not long before I was sent out. I got sick, was allergic to a food brought on Kamino. My stomach hurt so bad and I was throwing up, they wouldn’t let my brothers into the medbay. But the General, Shaak Ti, she came in and she rubbed my belly and sang that song. And force, it helped so much. Ever since then if anyone I know was sick, I’d use it. Would have used it on you but you were lucky and never got morning sickness.” He chuckles softly.
Hunter smiles and moves to kiss him. “You are so sweet, and I’m glad she taught you that. And comforted you.” He curls back into bed. “Honestly, I was getting really overwhelmed.” He admits.
“That’s okay, we’re both still learning love.” Fives smiles.
“Thanks.” Hunter yawns. “I’m going to take a nap, okay?”
“That’s a good idea.” Fives grins and nuzzles Hunter and Omega. “You two sleep, I’ll watch over you.”
Hunter nods, and curls up tightly to Omega and sleeps peacefully, everything is okay now.
Fives hums, and watches over the two most important people in his life. Everything is absolutely perfect.
Hiii so I’ve been in love w/ sickfics and the art they inspire for a long time! Ik I would be burned at the stake as a witch for this but could u do some sick omega art plz? I live and breathe sick meggie atm and ur art is so adorbs so I would love if u did that 🖤❤️🤍 also get hype for ep 13 cuz I believe that will be a sick omega episode ok thx byeee
I will always jump at an opportunity to draw soft family moments with the Batch.
I imagine everyone pitching in to help when she feels under the weather. Hunter rubs her back when she is nauseous. Tech makes sure she gets medicine, Wrecker carries her everywhere, and she normally falls asleep on Echo.
I also have read in several places about Omega wearing one of their spare blacks as an extra set of clothing. And I love the idea that when she is sick and needs to be in some comfy clothes she puts one on. Its way too big for her, but its soft and warm and smells like family.
