Some pug threw up on Anderson last night. Happy 2018 🤮
Gimli was up all night. Fingers crossed he feels better ASAP. Why do these things always happen on a Friday? He’s just missing the emergency vet I think.
Hello, I haven't had any updates for Heidi because her appointment has been resceduled to Friday June 3, at 3:00 with Dr. Candey.
I am to give her extra blood pasma for her left eye. Her right eye is reinfected.Leigha our other Pug caugh the eye infection from Heidi, so the vet said to use the same Tobramycin drops on Leigha we are using for Heidi. Heidi got reinfected by cross contamination from using the same eye med bottle as Leigha.
Heidi's left eye is red again and has more mucous, but I don't think the cloudy/blue that was covering her cornia looks like it has gotten larger again, but I don't see any improvement either.
Heidi's ears are still infected! I don't get that. They gave her a cortisone shot last time we were there. Heidi gets Rimadyl for her eye swelling, which should also help with the swelling in her ears.
I had no idea how long treatments were going to take for Heidi's eyes. Her ears have been infected the whole time too. Maybe the infections are fighting each other? Just a guess, will ask Dr. Candey Friday.
I know Heidi is probably sick of all of it too. She lets me give her eye drops and blood plasma. Leigha takes off as soon as she sees the syringe and the eye drops come out.
Leigha's eyes are not completely clear, but there is a difference. Not as red, and not as much mucous. I will post updates, pics, and documentation after vet Friday.
I want to Thank all who have been sharing, reblogging, and retweeting for Heidi. Pray that this will e over pretty soon and that her left eye is not reinfected and those darn ear infections will go away. https://goo.gl/6fG8J5
BLESSINGS to ALL, Lisa, Heidi, and Leigha

HEIDI and LEIGHA
I realized that some people may thing I am selfish by saying I would never give my babies up. I felt I should explain myself. If I could not afford their daily, weekly, and monthly needs and it would affect them in any way I would find them a loving home together. It would break my heart, but they are my first priority in my life.
I can afford their morning snack, brunch, dental sticks after each meal, homemade treats, dinner, bedtime snacks, and special treats for when I do their weekly ear cleanings, which I have to use an antibacterial/antifungal because of Heidi’s allergies. I clean their folds and wrinkles twice a week, again the antibacterial/antifungal for Heidi; they get special treats then too.
When I leave the house they get a treat, when I come home they get a treat. When Daddy leaves for work and comes home they get a treat.
They see the vet for regular checkups, tests, and shots. They get their heartworm pills and Frontline Plus monthly.
They are brushed often, because they love it. They are never left alone unless I have a doc appt.
They get homemade food most of the time due to Heidi’s allergies. If Heidi is acting like her ears are bothering her, we see the vet and get it treated.
They are spoiled and loved beyond measure. They have a doggie door wherever we live so they can have their freedom. Every need they have is met very well I believe.
The infections and ulcer came at a time where I had just paid over 600.00 for checkups. I had to buy one- month worth of pills for Leigha because she tested positive for Lyme’s disease. Heidi also had ear infections, so that was treated.
Just over a month later Heidi had ear ear infections again. Went to vet and got her meds and treatments.
About a month later she had an eye infection. I take her to the vet and find out she has a deep ulcer in her left eye. Thus started the weekly vet visits and all the meds to aggressively treat the eye, so Heidi wouldn’t lose her eye. She had double ear infections again also.
Leigha now has an eye infection caught from Heidi. Couldn’t afford more eye drops, so they said to use Heidi’s until I could afford to get Leigha her own. Now Heidi’s right eye is re-infected probably due to cross contamination from Leigha and Heidi using the same eye-drop bottle.
We were going to start going to the vet every two weeks, because Dr. Covey said her eye is healing slowly, but is showing some improvement. She said she was “cautiously optimistic”.
The infection in her ears will not go away, they are slowly improving and they gave her a cortisone shot last week to see if this would help. Her ear infections usually only require one treatment of an antibiotic shot, steroid shot, and a powerful antibiotic med they put deep in her ear canal that works for two weeks. Her ear infections are chronic. I was told to clean her ears once a week with the med.
Now with the Right eye is re-infected. We have to be cautious with the left eye because the ulcer could get worse. So this is why I cannot afford the weekly vet visits and meds.
Our income is barely enough to pay for my 13 med co-pays, Bob’s meds 3 med for COPD co-pays, and the regular utilities, rent, car insurance, health insurance etc.… which we are always late on.
When the rental house we were in was found to be uninhabitable due to black mold, faulty electric, and other problems we were given 24 hours to move out by the health department inspector. The landlord’s refused to make repairs and we even went the winter with no heat and had to use electric blankets and heaters.
We contacted the health department to see if they could do something to make him pay for repairs. So we were homeless for 6 months and had to pay for storage of our things. We lost some items because we didn’t have enough time to make the last trip to get them out within the given time limit.
We finally found this home after 6 months of homelessness. They have now put the house up for sale. That’s another matter.
Being homeless for 6 months doesn’t allow for paying bills such as the large dental bill even with insurance it was 5,000.00 for both of us. We had a 3,000.00 loan we were paying on, I had a few credit cards, which is how we were able to pay for getting into this home.
I was in school and I had to have the internet and it didn’t come with the room, so we paid that and I finally had to take an LOA it was just too much for me to deal with especially in my frame of mind at the time.
We received some help with getting a few electric appliances like a crock pot and omelet maker to cook with, and friends helped with some money. We were paying for storage, hotel, food that we could microwave or cook in electric pot, auto insurance, and so on.
Bob’s wages have been garnished twice so far to pay on loans we could not keep up with like the dentist. So his checks are about 380.00 every two weeks. Medical insurance taken is also taken out (234.00). I needed dental, eye, and medication’s covered as Medicare doesn’t cover those. I get 789 a month from disability. We are still trying to dig out. I feel like we keep getting deeper and deeper in the hole no matter how hard we try to dig out.
My eyes are going bad. My doctors and eye doc believe it is due to the Hoshimotos disease. I had to have an MRI and special tests with the eye doctor. I have had these glasses about 7 months and I am having trouble seeing again. We canceled eye-doc this week because Heidi needs to have her meds, I don’t want her to lose her eye.
So now you have the whole story. Our babies have always been with us and always come first. So you see had her eye infection not happened at this time we may have been able to afford it. This is why I will feel they have a good home with me. They are well taken care of and loved more than you can know. They are spoiled to the core. This is why I will not give them away. I am not being selfish nor am I a bad owner who cannot afford to have them.
I am only telling you these things to explain why it is hard to keep up with the meds and weekly vet visits. NOT for PITY. I want to be understood and fairly judged as to the kind of mother I am to Heidi and Leigha. I know people will say “Oh she is trying to make people feel sorry for her.” NO! I just want people to stop harassing me and calling me selfish, because it really hurts. There are so many people out there who are much worse off that I am, and I know that.
Heidi is my priority and the only thing I can think about right now is paying the vet and continuing treatments to save her eye. I don’t need anyone’s pity or to feel sorry for me. This is humiliating to ask for help especially embarrassing to ask strangers, and even online friends for help.
As I have already stated; If I could not meet the everyday needs, care, attention, yearly vet checkups, and extra vet visits for Heidi’s ears, I would have to consider what is best for them. No matter how much it would break my heart and theirs.
Please think about your own beloved pet. How easy would it be to just give them away? Would you not do everything in your power to keep them? Are your pets not a part of your family? Do you not feel bad when you know they are sick? Put yourself in my place. I am being called selfish and told to give them up. Do you think I am being selfish or do you think I am a good mommy trying to do her best? Please feel free to tell me.
I Am Selling My Antique/Vintage and Collectible Items (listed below)
I am selling some things to raise money for Heidi’s care. Nobody has been to the site or donated. I need to raise money. I DO NOT have but a few small gold items left, maybe a few pendants or earrings.
If you are interested in a certain category (I guess that is what to say) of items; I will gladly send photos and prices of the items through DM. If you are not interested I will post the items on the donation page. I am not sure where else to post them. Please do not pay for items on the donation page as it takes 2-5 days to transfer the money for use. It also affects the amount of the goal that has been met (You are still welcome to donate if you would like and it would be very much appreciated). You are responsible for shipping costs and items will be packed and shipped out within two days of purchase.
Payment can be made through my PayPal account, which I will give in DM if you purchase something.
I have some things to sell if anyone is looking for vintage, antique, or collectible items such as jewelry, compacts, perfume atomizers, evening bags, roaring 20’s flapper purses (both metal and beaded), glass ware, and some other vintage/antique items.
I have handmade décor for inside and outside the home (primitive and more modern), like small fairy gardens, scarecrows, wood signs, bird houses, and other items for décor.
I have sports collectables, two signed paintings by a known artist who owns an art studio and teaches painting styles. Her work is highly acclaimed and she is sought after for commissioned work across the globe. She has many awards and is featured in the news often at different art gallery events where her paintings are the showcase of the event.
I have two limited edition signed prints from another artist. I have porcelain dolls, many limited edition artist dolls still in box. A Shirley Temple doll. Text Books on web design and programming languages, several different programming languages, designing for mobile devices. I have a full boxed set of Walt Disney Books,
These items were going to be sold in my Etsy shop, which I shut down when we were homeless and planned to open back up in the next month. It dawned on me that I can sell the items now for Heidi. It will take a long while to take the photos, add the descriptions, prices, and all that I need to do before I can reopen my Etsy shop. So, for right now this is the best way I can do it unless someone has a better idea. I will post photos of items that people have seen and did not purchase on the donation site. I don’t think I can post prices and such…Not sure if they would make me close site down.
I will be online most of the day. DM me or e-mail me at [email protected] with any questions or for pics and prices. Donation site: HEIDI’S FUNDS
Blessings to All,
Lisa, Heidi, and Leigha
