This is part of the roleplay! (Any fics I write will be on my home or AU blogs)
TW: Deadly Illness, mentions of blood, nausea mentioned (no vomiting), fever, hypocrisy, discussion of potential death
Author's notes: Italics are Peso's thoughts. Peso took his temperature with an ear thermometer, which are very common in UK medical offices because they take like 2 seconds.

Here you go @whump-fiend!
Peso's head was pounding before he could even open his eyes. His mouth was dry and sticky, yet his clothes were drenched in his own perspiration. Not to mention the slight ache all over his body and the way his stomach seemingly protested its own existence.
Oh. I'm sick.
Something he had tried for years to hold back - the anxiety that should be paying a mortgage at this point - in his chest told him this was more than the flu. For once he decided to entertain it.
After all, malaria is a medical emergency. And he hasn't had human company in... well if it was malaria, probably over a week.
Struggling into a sitting position, he reached for his medical bag, where he stored bottled water, testing kits, medicine, and other useful stuff. He quickly checked his temperature with one flipper, while rummaging for the test kit with the other.
312.85º
Huh?
312.85ºK
Ohh. When did I even change it? Why did I even change it?
103.46ºF
39.7ºC
That's more like it.
He grabbed a water bottle and opened it. He knew that he would have to drink and maintain more or less all of it if he was to find out. Malaria RDT is a blood test after all.
[An hour later]
The timer buzzed (thank goodness for physical timers!) and Peso groaned and reached for the test. Like many other RDTs, two lines would mean a positive result, but it wasn't perfect.
He opened his eyes. Positive. In another scenario, he would be filling out 'notifiable disease' forms, testing the rest of the crew, and prescribing medication. Two of those were impossible, and the third was very likely to be unachievable too.
In this part of the world, cloroquine-resistant strains were very common. Doxycycline and quinine needed to be spaced out to avoid any drug interactions (why do we deliberately pair two medicines that interact anyway) and to be taken with food.
Choosing to forgo treatment, he scribbled out a note for whoever would have to find his body and rested his painful muscles against the ground, closing his eyes.
Seiko shivered, coughing, as she lies in bed. Her body becoming too hot or too cold. She can't make a new serum to fix this, but some she made prior can help. She was a mess.
In the mood to write about some very sick characters with bad food poisoning or a stomach bug... feeling particularly drawn to Drarry but also open for oc's!!! Dm me for my discord or like this post and I'll get back to you!! Feel free to message again if we did something that fizzled out and you wanna try again!!
In a quiet part of town, CC was sitting in the waiting room, having fallen ill. She sniffled, and wiped her nose with a tissue before placing her flu mask back over her face.
However, her eyes widened when she recognized someone who came through the door.
Fair point, he shouldn't have been traveling when he was sick, but he'd already bought the train ticket and it was too late to cancel or reschedule. He was going to see his family no matter how much he wanted to pass out at the moment. It was uncomfortable stuffing the two bags he'd brought along for the trip in the overhead compartment but thankfully the car was relatively empty and it didn't matter how long he took. He half swayed, half feel over into his seat by the window as the train started moving. The momentum sending him flying into several things and Alex knew that if the uneven start had lasted much longer he might have regretted eating anything.
It was only a few minutes later when he fell asleep against the window and someone sat down across from him. Part of him wondered how bad he looked as he drifted off, the train beginning to lull him to sleep and dashing his plans to read or draw through the trip. He felt tired... he'd been tired for a few days. Alex supposed that it would have been better if he ever got proper sleep in the first place instead of running with his insomnia through the sickish sludge of his mind.
It was a few hours later, when it was dark, that Alex woke up to the train stopping unexpectedly as he gripped the arm of the seat, wondering why they were stopping. They weren't nearly there yet... it should have been longer... The announcer and a conductor informed everyone in the car that they were experiencing unexpected weather delays before he could ask. In other words, it was snowing like hell and they had to make a long-term pit stop. Alex knew immediately he wouldn't be able to fall back asleep in the weather. The cold was already seeping through the window and he shivered violently before sniffling. It wasn't the most dignified thing, but he really wished he could have gone back to sleep. Being sick sucked, being sick on a train sucked worse. His nap only aided him in feeling more tired than before. Alex sat back, shivering again through his rather thick hoodie and suppressing something with his hand. A cough? A sneeze? A groan? Nope! It turned out to be a sneeze that was immediately followed by the kind of groan sick people get when they're just too tired to put up with their own bodies bullshit. The person across from him was probably looking at him. Not that he could really tell though as the train lights went off and a static voice called out that they were experiencing more technical difficulties...
