Steve thinks Frida Kahlo is the coolest. His sketchbook seemed to be mostly landscapes, people, and cartooning, but I like to think that he also did quite a bit of mural work for the FAP and him admiring all the communist themed art around the time period is too great to pass up, if only because it would mean that he was involved with propaganda before he was Captain America. (should I message the op with this or could you pass it on?)

I can pass it on! This is great stuff! :D I love the idea of Steve doing murals; the propaganda angle is really wonderful. It would be really interesting to explore how he would feel about creating propaganda through his own artwork as opposed to working on the USO tours: is it more frustrating for him to create the propaganda, or to be it?

this happens quite a lot with the music laura forces upon carmilla, to be honest. when they hang out laura loves playing music and carmilla puts up with it because - come on, it's carmilla. and although she doesn't like the majority of it, they are catchy and she finds herself humming a lot of them when she's alone or even worse when they're together. when it's things like beyonce, carmilla doesn't mind too much...but when it is something like one direction carmilla denies it until laura stops teasing her

it's almost a relief to carmilla over christmas break when she finally gets a break from all of the top 40 crap

Hey so I think it was from you where I first heard about Deaton possibly being the big bad and because I hadn't been thinking about it I haven't been looking out for it beyond the last couple episodes. So I was wondering what instances come to the front of your mind as foreshadowing for Deaton's ultimate betrayal?

Apart from everything? ;-)

It's a lot of things.

[None of these are in order and it's been a while since I've watch the earlier seasons and so stuff might be a bit vague.]

It's how Deaton obviously had information from the very beginning and there was never any good reason for him not telling them immediately, other than he just didn't feel like it. 

It's how by withholding information more people have been killed. Especially in S2 with the kamina. 

It's things like how Deaton treated Derek from the beginning. How he never helped him, despite having been the Hale emissary. Especially once Derek was alpha and, honestly, needed all the help he could get. It's how Deaton came up with a plan for Scott to use Derek without his consent and how Deaton made sure he set up Derek to let Scott use him like that.

(Like, how cold do you have to be to not only set someone up to have their bodily autonomy violated, but also to convince the person doing the violating that it's a good thing to do.)

It's things like the whole 'true alpha' thing. It's dodgy as fuck. Like, how Deaton seems to be grooming Scott to be what he wants him to be. Almost like his belief in Scott is turning him into a true alpha. 

I'm still not sure Deaton was one of Jennifer's sacrifices. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a test Deaton set up for Scott so he would have to break the mountain ash barrier. There was nothing about what happened to Deaton that was similar to any of the other sacrifices. 

The entire sacrifice thing was also dodgy, too. I think it was suspect that Scott's anchor was someone he had a strong emotional connection with (Deaton), while Stiles' (Lydia) and Allison's (Isaac) were the very opposite of strong emotional ties. 

I think it's suspect that Deaton just happened to have kanima poison. Like, where did he get it? Did he milk Jackson and if he did when did he have the time? 

I think the fact that Scott always listens to Deaton without question and will tell him stuff that he keeps from Stiles is worrying. It means he trusts Deaton more than his best friend of years. It also means Scott listens to Deaton over Stiles and this is despite us having many instances of Stiles being the only one who guessed something right. 

I wouldn't be surprised if when Deaton tried to poison nogi!Stiles he was also trying to poison real!Stiles because Stiles, in my opinion, is a threat to Deaton's hold and influence over Scott. (similarly, I think that if Stiles and/or Allison (as big influences in Scott's life) had died during the sacrifice Deaton would have been delighted).

That he and Scott apparently knew what was happening to Stiles (with the nogistune) before Stiles and his dad did, and told no-one and planned for it is dodgy and fucked up.  

The thing with Deaton is, from what we've been shown he is either the mysterious black mentor or he's a mysterious bad guy. 

With the proviso that it could easily just be terrible writing that hasn't been thought through,and that's why nothing he does makes sense...

I'm really hoping he's a bad guy because mysterious black mentor is racist as fuck and I hate it. At least if he's a bad guy then he's been planning this himself, he's the big bad, and he's been manipulating everyone for his own gain and I'm good with that.  

I'm not sure how it's ultimately going to play out, but I wouldn't be surprised that as Scott becomes darker and his friends question his methods, Deaton is the one to stand by Scott. Hence isolating him from everyone else and setting him up for whatever Deaton wants to use him for. 

I hope this helps. There are lots of other instances of Deaton being dodgy and manipulative as fuck and I know I've missed some fairly obvious ones.  

But yeah, in conclusion, if Deaton isn't a big bad, we've witnessed 4 seasons of really awful and convenient writing.
