so this is Amber’s @loveloveolivia‘s birthday drabble which I promised ages ago and I’m sorry this is so late. So there you go, Ambz, have Jerrie, side Larry, a tiny bit of Tomlinshaw, and birthday kisses. Also I’m sorry this is so sappy.

from lezza with love. “Knock knock.” Perrie doesn’t even have to look up. “Piss off,” she says with gusto and stuffs another chip into her mouth. The uni cafeteria is open even though classes havent started yet, and it’s filled with hungry students, who need a break from the library. 

Harry sits down across from her, long legs barely fitting under the tiny table. “You’re supposed to say who,” he complains and steals the last of her greasy potato chips off her plate, dunking it in mayo before it disappears in his mouth.

“You’re disgusting,” Perrie tells him and wipes her fingers off a napkin. Her lips taste salty as she licks them clean.

Harry nudges her shin with his foot. “You love me.” Perrie narrows her eyes at him. There’s always that slightest bit of good natured rivalry between them. Perrie was Louis’ best friend first before Harry came into their lives, and there is a tiny, tiny part of Perrie that still misses the old days when it was just her and Louis, single and gay and up against the world.

“So.” Harry smiles easily, tugging off his beanie. His hair is slightly matted from the wet mix between rain and snow that’s been pouring down from the grey skies for days now. “I was thinking we could throw them a party.”

“Them?”

“Yeah? My boy and your girl. Like, a belated birthday celebration.” 

Her girl. Christ.  Jade’s birthday was inbetween Christmas and New Year’s Eve and Perrie was swamped with family visits so there was a birthday call, and Perrie had sent her a parcel with a shirt that said girls do it better and Jade snapped her with wearing nothing but the shirt, so that....had been something. She hasn’t seen her since before the break, uni only starts next week, so maybe Harry’s idea isn’t too bad. They already sort of did Louis’ annual birthday bash but no harm in celebrating twice, right? 

Her girl, though. She can’t get quite used to that thought, but at the same time it’s weirdly intoxicating. 

“Alright, good idea,” she agrees after a beat and grabs her coat. At least this will give her the motivation to bullshit her way through the paper a bit quicker.

Two days later, she has a flat filled with people, a cup filled with punch and her arms filled with Jade. 

Out of the corner of her eye she can see Nick Grimshaw towering next to Louis, clearly torn between amusement and irritation as Louis wildly gesticulates, re-enacting stories about his siblings. His bright laugh rings through the flat. 

Perrie knows Harry will show up in three minutes tops to possessively wind his arm around Louis’ waist and dimple at Nick in a way that tells him to back off, and usually Perrie would love to watch that happen but right now, her attention is elsewhere. 

Jade has her arms wrapped around her neck, swaying along to the music that’s beating through the speakers, and Perrie can feel her boobs pressed against her own. “Good birthday?” she asks and sips from her punch, careful not to spill it on Jade. They’re in the kitchen, and Perrie thinks it was because she wanted to get more snacks, but her head is a little fuzzy with sticky happiness and alcohol. 

“Mm, yeah.” Jade moves her lips to Perrie’s neck, eyelashes brushing over her skin and a shiver whispers down Perrie’s spine. “Thanks for the party.” Perrie hides her grin in Jade’s shoulder. “Welcome,” she says into her hair. Jade is slightly shorter than her, and Perrie feels a rush of protective affection when Jade steps even closer. 

“Missed you,” Jade tells her then, lips against her earlobe now. “Kind of hated sleeping alone,” she continues, fingers trailing down Perrie’s sides and hooking into the waistband of her skirt. “Missed touching you, too.” 

There is a slow burn under Perrie’s skin everywhere that Jade is pressed against her, every inch of her is thrumming with warmth from Jade’s touch, and she wants to savour this moment of lazy heat that is on the edge between comfortable familiarity and new excitement.  Perrie knocks back the rest of her punch, throws the cup into the general direction of the bin and she tilts her head to kiss Jade; a bit harder than she had intended but if Jade’s grip on her hip and her soft sigh is anything to go by, it is exactly right.

She kisses her, heat coiling in her stomach, hands moving over Jade’s ass to squeeze just the slightest bit. “Missed touching you, too,” she mumbles and Jade laughs, pulling away, a little breathless. Perrie makes a frustrated sound and her hands tighten on Jade; she wants to walk her back into her bedroom and - 

“I’m like, in love with you,” Jade says, blunt and bright, into the space between their lips. “I’m so in love with you.” Perrie feels like a fish on dry land all the sudden, her heart is racing, and all she can do is stare. Her world, no her entire universe, is narrowed down to this kitchen, to the tiles under her bare feet, the smudged eyeliner on Jade’s right eye, and Kanye West blaring from Niall’s bluetooth boxes.  

Before she can process those words, she can hear herself say, “Me, too, what the fuck you can’t just spring that on me, but,” she takes a deep breath, “god, me too.” 

Jade’s grin comes crashing around her like a wave, the world snaps back into focus and then it’s Jade who presses her against the kitchen counter, kissing her heatedly and frantically.

#  “Knock, knock.”

Perrie looks up and groans. “You’re absolutely terrible. Not you, too!”  Louis only grins at her and slumps down next to her onto the sofa, draping his feet over her lap. “You look happy,” he says and pokes a finger into Perrie’s cheek. Perrie bats away his hand, but she can’t help the faint blush. 

Across the room Jade and Harry are doing a somewhat bizarre karaoke version of I Will Survive, yelling into their fake microphones, Niall doubling over with laughter in the background. People have spread out on every available surface; the party is at that point where everyone is either too drunk or too tired to stand anymore.  Perrie curls a little into Louis’ shoulder, catching Jade’s eyes for a brief second. “I think you’re a little too whipped,” she tells him. “Telling knock-knock jokes and shit.” 

She can feel Louis’ laugh vibrating through his chest, and Jade sends her a wink before belting out the chorus again, Harry’s arm around her shoulder, and Perrie is drunk on punch and champagne.

In a bit, she will get up and drag Jade to her bedroom and take off her heels, one by one. She will sloppily drag out at least two orgasms out of her, and she will make her pancakes in the morning. 

But for now, she will linger right here. Just a little longer.
