Side by Side - 18x24 ink illustration Happy June and Happy Pride Month. I hope everyone had a food Memorial Day weekend. I for one got to go thrifting for the first time in ages and ended up getting 2 vintage mid century modern style dressers. Which meant most of my weekend was spent reorganizing the closet, and then turning around and taking the shelves we had been using for closet storage and moving them into our office and my art space - and completely reorganizing the storage there too. It’s not done yet but it’s getting there. I also started watching a Chinese Rom-Com called Oh My General and it’s hilarious. One of my goals in life, to be a Side-Hug Thug

I'm taking the project #MixtapeFotográfico very seriuously. Trying to be more consistent with my work and imoressions of the subjects, I'm dedicating two journals, a small one I carry with camera, where I quickly jot down the tech specs of that shoot, and one where I go into details of the bands, their music, our conversations, the place they performed. It's an excersice which I hope will both keep me focus on the objective (as you glance in an entry) and will allow me to go back and find out where I made smart calls or mistakes. It's also a way to continue to write at every opportunity I get. I still need to make notes at lenght of Friday's amazing performance of Los Black Dogs, a bittersweet moment for the band, who said onstage goodbye to a founding pillar of the band, Drummer badass Gustavo.
