2. Ferdinetta (FE3H)

Oh no! Nina has fallen for a rarepair yet again!

I just love their bond, your honour. Ferdinand trying to help Bernie get out of her shell but pushing too far. Bernie still feeling he’s a safe enough person to call him out on his behaviour, which is huge for her! They challenge each other to grow and that’s my jam.

And their A conversation! Ferdinand admitting to the misgivings he had about her and confiding in Bernie about his own fears… Bernie immediately and visibly going heart eyes over it all… They’re so soft, your honour! 🧡💜

3. Silas/Hana (Fates)

My sister had them on their copy of Birthright and they have this cute rivalry that instantly made me melt. Underrated pairing again…

4. Siegbert & Shigure (Fates)

They are siblings in my Conquest savefile and I love them your honour… Siegbert is the best big brother one could possibly dream of and Shigure slowly lets go of his distance and pride for him… 🥺

5. Kaze/Selena (Fates)

Their conversations are so soft and full of vulnerability. I think I teared up a few times reading them. WHAT’S WITH ME AND RAREPAIRS —

He was pacing again, and his ribs ached for it, but he couldn’t stop- Shigure and Kana and Selkie were all injured, Siegbert was still out there, Mozu was still out this, his son was still fighting one of these monstrosities-

He shook his head of such thoughts- there ain’t no use worryin’ over things that ain’t happened yet, a voice that sounded shockingly like his wife reminded him. He let himself lean against the wall of the monastery, sighing softly. He... He could do nothing, truly, not with his own body still recovering from the beating it suffered during the fight with the beast, not with the time he knew travelling elsewhere would take, not with Kana here, in need of family to hold him and keep him safe from the nightmares he’d been plagued with after watching his precious bluebird be caught under rubble, trapped- a songbird with no means to fly. Not with the songbird still here, broken wings keeping them from the fresh air and joy that their little dragon breathed like wild flames.

So, he waited.

And he wrote- not anything of value, no letters home yet, no bills to have the council go over, just... thoughts. Snippets of poems he’d never finish, one line of introspection here, another line of quiet musings there. He’d just finished one- a bloom without compare that warms the soul and feels like home- when a voice cried out.

“Gofannon of the north has been defeated! Team Gofannon has returned!” In an instant his quill was clattering to his desk as he rushed out, ignoring the way his chest burned with the exertion, how his breath refused to come-

Siegbert was here.

He rushed towards the students, many of them shocked by the man in black and purple barreling towards them, asking in a breathless voice about his son, about Siegbert, the tall boy in black armor with the freckles- the way the students looked down made him freeze.

“Is- is he alright? He would not have perished in such a battle-”

“No, no sir! He’s- uhm, well, he should be in the infirmary right about now, since he got injured-” Xander ran off, not caring for once about customs and being polite- this was his son.

His vision was spotting over black and white by the time he reached the infirmary, and one of the nurses tried to scold him for straining his body, but he didn’t listen, instead just stumbling over to the infirmary bed where he could half make out a flash of gold, coughing as he caught his breath while his vision cleared.

“Siegbert- Siegbert, are you alright? I-” a cough. “I heard you had- had been injured and I- I came right away-”
