I just realized that in Criminal Minds, the handgun that most of the agents carry is one with a magazine, yet Spencer Reid carries a Smith and Wesson Model 65:

Reid carries a revolver, while other agents carry handguns like

A Glock 17 (Aaron Hotcher) :

A Glock 26 (Jennifer Jareau) :

My point is that while the other's have a gun that the magazine holds 10-17 rounds, while Reid's Smith and Wesson holds only 6 rounds.

I understand that this is just a show, but I like wondering about this stuff. In order for Reid to reload, he would have to do it manually, one bullet at a time, while the other's on the team can have a backup magazine.

I think where I'm going with this is why would the BAU allow one of their agents to have a revolver where it has to be reloaded manually instead of a Glock or a SIG-Sauer like one of the others?
