I thought the Glock 43 solved your complaints about double stack magazines? Sig makes plenty of small carry options also. I am just trying to figure out your desires for your perfect handgun.
Nope. I quite like the 42, but the 43 is a belly gun — nice to carry, not so to shoot. To get good results with a 43, you need to train with it. A lot. Like ten times what you will do with a Glock 19. It forgives nothing.
I still prefer the 26, even if I really don’t like the grip of that subcompact (too fat, too short, finger grooves).
P225 is for me an almost all-around perfect pistol, not too small, not too big, nice for almost every kind of hands, no decrease of performance compared to a full-size sidearm — but it’s a pistol from the ‘70s (and the new models carry quite a hefty price tag).
I really like the Kahr CW9 form factor, but I’m not a fan of DAO... and Kahr are too costly in Switzerland anyway.
I know there are several other options available in the USA, but they are almost all too exotic (meaning they cost too much in Switzerland, coming from brands with known reliability or durability issues, and/or with no aftermarket support even for basic amenities like extra magazines or spare parts).
So, to summarize, I want : - a good compromise grip (i.e. something similar to a Colt Commander)
- circa 4″ barrel to tame recoil and barrel rise, and get better sight line too
- striker fired (mostly for the location of the trigger — still thinking about the little hands)
- polymer framed (for weight and cost-saving)
- added bonus of being able to switch to other frames depending on your needs in the case of my hypothetical P325.
I have to say, that for my hands, the P320 is really great, they even managed to make a smaller grip than on a P228. But I really don’t mind the loss in magazine capacity (given it’s mostly a psychological tactical advantage) for a slight upgrade in carrying comfort.

Sig P239. Single stack and about the same size as a G19.
Not a bad choice but I’m more a P225 guy.
