After warning my friend of the potential for an emotional breakdown, I headed over to say hello. Since losing our Husky Angel I thought it might be too much for me to see his husky puppy Elune. I also knew that more than anything I wanted to run my fingers through her soft fur and see her husky mannerisms. I cant lie and say that I didnt shed a few tears on the drive over, or that I didn't brace myself mentally for all the memories that would inevitably surface of our sweet Angel as a puppy. But...as soon as Elune recognized my voice, jumped up to lick my face, and almost knocked me over with her affection...I knew that this would not be a sad encounter. There is just something about a dogs spirit and unconditional love, that is so much more healing than I could have imagined. ___________________________________ In this photo the 6 month old Elune enjoys her first time running off leash in the forest. She was so fast and the dappled light of sunset was fading fast, it took a little while to get the settings dialed in to capture a clear shot.
