This is a fish....at least I see a fish in it and its gonna come out over the next two weeks. I will post step by step photos of the process. This is about a 25″ (long side) piece of #15 Signfoam from one of my shop projects. Expensive and seemingly impervious to the elements, I have used this material to hand carve a number of ‘things’, the latest being a large ( 36″ across) 3D logo for a deli and meat shop. Its just a matter of removing enough material to ‘free the fish’. The on-paper design to follow tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Part 1 One of our larger projects had a 3′ x 4′ medallion cut and carved out of 2″ Signfoam. This is step three, after the handmade pattern was done and transferred to the foam, I took the remote dremel tool and ‘drew’ the lines into the foam. I used a 1/8″ drill bit at high speed as a pencil. The numbers are depth indicators...stay tuned, this thing turned out very well.
