We've all seen it: the 'Please Excuse Our Mess' sign at construction sites, renovations, and beyond. While it may seem mundane, it's more than just a sign; it symbolizes forward thinking and progress.
Just like this, everyday signage transforms spaces. The 'Wet Paint' sign promises a fresh start, 'Under Construction' hints at a vibrant future, and 'Open During Renovations' showcases resilience. These signs are the quiet heralds of transformation, whispering the promise of better things.
So next time you pass a 'Please Excuse Our Mess' sign, remember that it's more than just words; it's a glimpse into a world of innovation and renewal. Here's to celebrating the beauty of progress in the everyday!

NEW STREET ART! 👀📣Karat has been busy pasting up large-scale portraits of Queen Charlotte around downtown.👑Charlottesville’s namesake matriarch has been celebrated as England’s first black queen, but alas has no visual representation in C-Ville. (Google her to learn more!)🤔Also BTW I’m pretty sure she was literally about to get painted over in that Landmark photo.😋 . . . #blacklivesmatter #blm #blackwomenmatter #blackhistory #signsofchange #hiddentruths #streetart #karat #wheatpaste #pasteup #pasteupart #art #drawing #ink #charlottesvilleart #charlottesville #charlottesvilleva #portrait #yesqueen #queencharlotte (at Charlottesville, Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGns0UTlakk/?igshid=1pddbw3rwqyak
My full recap from the @signsofchangecville workshop I helped facilitate with local historian Charlene Green and @fralinmuseumuva is now up in my blog! (Link in bio) 👈✏️Here’s a few examples of our creations, including my sketchnotes with & without a drawing of our namesake Queen Charlotte who is shockingly not seen depicted anywhere in Charlottesville—probably because of her African heritage? 👀👑There are more workshops in this revealing series which I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE friends in Charlottesville to attend! That info too is also in my blog. . . . #signsofchange #forfreedoms #charlottesville #history #blackhistory #untoldstories #revealinghistory #educateyourself #charlenegreen #lauraleegulledge #sketchnotes #drawing #queencharlotte #whereisqueenc #artivism #endwhitesupremacy #celebrateblackhistory (at Sojourners United Church of Christ) https://www.instagram.com/p/BoH49Yalf9v/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=tchq86ky3dxs

@signsofchange I'm only 20% in and already hooked.
gown-and-sword answered your question “So I picked up Six of Crows today. Do I need to have read any of the...”
i read soc before the grisha trilogy and did okay. there are references to the grisha books but you can learn about the world from soc also. there are some characters mentioned from the trilogy in soc as well
That’s good to know! I think I’ll give it a go, then read the other series after. @signsofchange, this is relevant to you as well!
