Does Prototype miss Catnap a lot in your AU, and is Player able to pick up on that?

Oh YES. MUCH. The two of them had a lot of chemistry when they knew eachother both when Theodore (catnap) was still a human. Ollie gave himself up for the kid at one point, saved his life. i know in canon they dont really interact but thats cuz we never saw them interact so i get to put some headcanons on it...

sure catnap sees the prototype like a god, but in a way that isn't too much or too toxic. he'll do the prototype's dirty work without a second thought, but ollie actually just. doesnt want to see catnap suffering anymore. i like to think thats what happened when he eventually killed catnap, to spare him of the pain and depression of this world. he knows theyre only going to sink lower, and wants to save catnap once more before they reach rock bottom.

and player doesnt pick up on it at first! Or- doesnt care enough to, at least. but as the story goes on and we eventually ask about Catnap, the Prototype freezes. The question... bothers him, and he knows why, but we don't know- yet. So we assume it's a sensitive subject. The Prototype isn't much for chatting, but at the mention of his old friend he just couldn't help but engage in conversation. (pretty much his only friend. everyone else either hated, feared, or loved him, but he was regarded as above everyone else and unable to form connections. Catnap was the exeption).

Hi hi! I'm a simple woman, I see Lee!Suo, I see Lee!Kiryu- I go "that's it! “Suo, Suo!” Kiryu barrel rolled over to said teen, sitting up before wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “Take a selfie with me.”

“I’m not camera ready.” Suo tried ducking his head away, but Kiryu was stubborn. He moved his arm from his shoulders to his waist, pulling him tighter and pressing their faces cheek to cheek. 

“Cheeese!” He grinned up at the high angle. Before he hit the shutter button, he saw Suo still wasn’t smiling- or even looking at the camera. “Suo. Cheeeeeese.”

“No thanks.” Suo wagged a finger before shielding his face with his hand. Oh the gall! “Take a picture with someone else.”

“Suo…” Kiryu pouted, then got an idea. He curled the fingers resting against the small of Suo’s waist only once.

“Ehe!” The redhead yelped, his hand shooting down to grab Kiryu’s. “Don’t do thahat!”

“Oh? I didn’t know you were ticklish, there!” Kiryu wiggled his fingers some more, making Suo fall against him. “Come now- lift your face! Let the camera see you!”

“Nehehehehver! Ehahhahha, I toohohold you, I’m nohohot rehahahhady!” Suo giggled, trying his best to push Kiryu’s hand away. Or maybe he wasn’t- the pink haired teen swore Suo was way stronger than this. And far more evasive. Was this…? “Noohohoht eheheheryone is bohohorn with a duhuhuck fahahhce liihihke you!”

“Oh ho ho- now that is a brave thing to say for someone so ticklish!” Kiryu tsked as he went into overdrive. He moved from his waist to his neck, earning a proper squeal that sent Suo falling onto his back. “Come here, you!”

“Nahahhhaa! Nohohohohooho! Nohoho geheheht! Gehhhet ohohohff- ahhahahhaha!” Suo cackled as he scrunched up, kicking his feet like a child as he swatted at the hands in his neck. Kiryu’s fingers were like feathers- soft and fluttery, they traced his chin and wiggled against the back of his neck like a bird on a mission. “Kiihihiiryu pleahhahahahse!”

“Hehe! Tickle tickle tickle tickle tickle!” The other sang, dropping his hands back down to Suo’s belly and sides. He gently scratched at them, making the redhead jump and squeak. “Another good tickle spot? What- was the one on your waist the on button? I don’t think I’ve heard you make that sound before!”

“Eheahahhhahahaha! S-Shuuhuhuhsh! Ehahhaa, fihihihne, fihihihine! I’ll tahhahake the pihihicture! I’ll dohohoohohoho it!” Suo cried out, cheeks burning red and belly aching from all his laughter. Upon hearing this, Kiryu pulled his hands back with a delighted grin.

“Yay! I knew you’d see things my way!” With that, he whipped out his phone, turning it to selfie mode and getting into position. Leaning back until he was laying beside Suo, he tuck up a peace sign. “Cheeeeeese!”

“Cheeeeheheheheese..” Suo mimicked him, if not a bit weary. The resounding photo was…well. “Please delete that.”

“Never!” Kiryu held it up like a prized possession, pinching the screen to really take in Suo’s face. “I think I’m gonna use this as your new contact photo-AH!”

Recovering quickly, Suo jumped onto Kiryu and scribbled into his sides, making him squeal and flail. “Delete it or I’ll delete you.”

The picture was never deleted.
